I was a patient, don’t send your child here. Some techs are nice, but most of them are mean and controlling.

We barely did group therapy, and zero individual therapy. I stayed there for about a week and the experience was horrible.

You wake up at 6am being asked by a rude psychiatrist some questions and told your either leaving or not.

I was isolated for 24 hours my first time there because they thought I had lice? Nice ladies did treatment and combed through my hair to find nothing, not even one egg; and I still had to be isolated.

Gross place, gross staff and disgusting traumatic experience. Thank you for making children’s mental health worse.

If I could give zero stars, I would. My child was brought in under a Baker Act due to her posing a danger to herself and others. The doctor who evaluated her that night agreed that she requires long-term residential treatment, especially since previous attempts at IOP and short-term residential care were unsuccessful. However, by the next morning, a different doctor was ready to discharge her. I asked how a facility with professionals and 24-hour supervision couldn’t manage her, yet she would be safe at home. He said they’d try to find residential care, though it’s difficult. An hour later, I received a call from a nurse saying the doctor wanted to change her status to voluntary and needed my consent. I refused to give consent. The next morning, Mercedes called to tell me that, because I didn’t consent, they were discharging her. Is this retaliation? Multiple doctors have stated she needs long-term residential care, yet this facility insists she’s safe to go home.

Stayed here for a week in 4th grade. I did what I had always been told to do and sought help when I experienced suicidal thoughts. However, instead of support, I was met with accusations of making my mental illness up. One nurse and two doctors told me it seemed like I wasn't truly there because I needed help. One even told me he thought I "got something out of being sick".
After I was discharged, the doctors told my mom to confiscate all my personal belongings, such as my phone, books, and art supplies; effectively cutting me off from any support network or coping skill I had previously.
Overall, my mental health was worse coming out of the hospital than it was going in, and I am still in the process of recovering on my own. If anyone is going through a crisis, I do not recommend coming to this hospital specifically.

Just discharged today. Writing review while memory is fresh.

I found 95% of the staff to be just fine! They were laid back and funny. I appreciated that.

The facility was horrible. Beds that are so broken down you basically are sleeping on a hard plastic thing. No real door to the bathroom. It's foam and open at the top and bottom like a public restroom stall. I overheard staff talking about them shutting down the unit I was in soon for renovation because of black mold, mold they had known about since 2014!! They intentionally keep the temperature in the 60's and almost everybody was freezing all the time. Staff frequently wore jackets during their shifts even. They place ankle monitoring bracelets on everyone. I don't understand since it's a locked unit anyways. Felt like an animal.

And y'all need to stop with that "Jesus loves you" shit. I have my religious preferences clearly set to atheist on my chart (you even confirmed with me upon admission!) and did not appreciate that.

If it wasn't for your amazing weekend staff, I'd be looking into lawsuits.

i just got discharged from this place, and i wanted to give my honest opinion on this.

some of the nurses were nice, and i loved certain techs, but overall i have to give this a 2/5 rating. we were not allowed to talk to other patients, all we did was sit and watch tv for hours straight, we did not participate in ANY group therapy, and they still expected us to behave and enjoy our visit there. i expect that this isn’t my last visit here, but i hope you guys put in the effort to actually do some activities that will help your patients instead of making them sit and watch tv.

Horrible facility run by hasty, uneducated, uncaring kids. It’s hard to say it, but it’s the truth.

It starts all the way up. Needs a complete system redesign and clean up.

Instead of cages and drugs, there are much more effective methods of support.

Not to mention, the overall poor facility infrastructure.

I wonder how lawyers are weak, doctors insensitive to the long term implications of their hasty judgements.

How can you lock kids/minors up and drug them and shift their mood through additives? Aren’t you aware of the long term impacts?

Follow the footsteps of the well educated doctors out there such as DR. Daniel Amen.

The whole building needs a tear down and a whole redesign.

When I mean kids, I am not referring to age.
I mean maturity., whatever the age is.

I had a disappointing experience at this facility. The organization was lacking, and decisions were made hastily, showing little consideration for the needs of both the patient and their family I spoke to many parents. It felt more like a confinement center than a place for genuine recovery. I would not recommend this facility to anyone, as I believe there are much better options available for patient care.

i was a patient back here in 2021, so this may not be as accurate as today. however, the reviews i read from over the years seem to be exactly the same as my experience. we were sat in a common room, watching TV for about 5-8 hours a day. we’d see the therapist for less than five minutes a day, and received little to no group therapy or any sort of help.
another thing to note was the fact that the whole week there, a boy with autism was kept in his room for my entire visit, occasionally screaming and retaliating against nurses, obviously not in an environment suitable for him. every other time i walked past his room, he’d be restrained and being injected with a sedative.
whenever in the common room, some patients would try and make conversation, which would be quickly followed by a nurse shushing or yelling to be quiet. i don’t find how connecting with your peers is unacceptable, but sitting in silence watching property brothers for 6 hours is an acceptable form of therapy?
