Today I was supposed to have a "life altering" procedure done. It was an upper and lower Frenotomy. I had seen this new dentist in February, and she told me that this was contributing to my mouth breathing, congestion, jaw problems, mouth problems, dry mouth, insomnia, sleep apnea, and many other things. That the procedure would make a big improvement in my well being and health. I was very nervous about it, and they gave me a sheet that showed my cost share. I could not afford the $176.40 but decided I would do without groceries for feeling better. It was an early appointment. I don't usually do 9am ones, but it is all they offered. I was up early and was there 30 minutes early. I wasn't taken back until around 20 after. When I got back there she started explaining things to me, and gave me a chart that I needed to sign. Something came up that p882.rompted me to tell her that my cost share was only $176.40. She said she would check. She came back with a paper that said I had to pay $882. She told me my insurance did not cover it and they found out later. I told her that they should have called me and told me this. I was embarrassed, and felt foolish. I told her that I was sorry for wasting her time, but in reality it was my time that was wasted, and I got up early for nothing. My first visit was wonderful and hopeful. This was a disaster and heartbreaking. I called my insurance when I got home and they said they never have covered that procedure. I checked further and talked to my daughter who had to have it done on her infant son, that it is not a covered procedure under any insurance. They knew this. I am a widow that lives off of social security, not even enough to pay basic bills. I was going to make a big sacrifice to have a better existence. To have rest and peace. My teeth have always been a problem, as well as going to the dentist. My insurance said that the average amount for this procedure is about $216 per. I could not even afford that. I will have to continue to suffer. I will have to check all procedures with my dental carrier before scheduling an appointment in the future. I am not one that likes to write these kinds of reviews, but I hope this does not happen to someone else. I am not one that can just afford whatever, whenever. I do only basic care for me, if that.

I continue to be so impressed with Mid Bay Dental on so many fronts. It is clear to me that Dr. Chase is a passionate "life long learner" as she is always up on the latest best practices and is happy to explain them when asked, yet I never feel any push to do anything that is not needed. Her staff is always so genuinely caring and professional. I lost my in network coverage due to my employer's benefit changes so now I have to pay substantial out of network charges but I wouldn't even consider another dentist.

I feel very blessed to be a patient at Mid Bay Dental.

My kids should be the ones writing this review!! They love having their teeth checked, cleaned, and complimented. The ladies at Mid bay Dental are welcoming and excellent with young patients. We appreciate the availability to work with our schedule. Our insurance company has been in and out of network over the years but we still have returned for the wonderful service.

I always look forward to my twice a year visit with Lee, love catching up and sharing stories from the past six months. I leave # 2 room feeling refreshed and happy with beautiful pink gums and white teeth. Lee, you are the best!!!

Great atmosphere, professional staff. I felt like I had a very thorough cleaning and exam, and I would definitely recommend this practice. I have recently switched my whole family to Mid Bay Dental and we are all very impressed.

We went to Lee for a myofunctional therapy evaluation and she was amazing! She made me and my 5 year old feel totally comfortable! She is thorough and my favorite part was I felt she was truly present with us. I didn’t feel rushed and was able to leave with a lot of great information. I genuinely could not have asked for a better experience. I have a lot of anxiety around some bad dental experiences I had when I was younger, and I was incredibly nervous when came to the office. Every single person I encountered - from the staff working the front desk, to Ari who did my cleaning and x-rays, to Dr. Hughes who did my consultation - every single person was patient and deeply kind. Ari explained what was happening every step of the way and regularly checked in with me, and Dr. Hughes was very open and clear about my treatment plan and future. I felt validated and valued, and I left feeling deeply confident I will be taken care of the next time I return. Absolutely could not have asked for a better experience. The staff at Mid Bay Dental is fantastic - if you're looking for a new dentist, I cannot recommend them enough.
