I had a friend that was there on the 5th floor. He went in with a bacterial infection which was treated. Ended up getting the flu and Covid in the hospital. I would go to check on him and noticed he wasn't eating and not responding very well. How do yall expect a person to respond when you're giving him all these unnecessary pills and no food. Then I come again, they've got him restrained, why?, because he wanted to go home. Did he not have the right? They said that they were worried about his confusion. It was just something different every time. They said they couldn't release him without a legal guardian. His legal guardian whom all these years he thought was dead. He said he was told she died from the pandemic. Well we found that wasn't true. To make a long story short. He ended up in ICU(Very nice staff, I can't say that for the 5th floor staff except for Ms. Donna, she was nice.) He started looking better because they were feeding him. He ended up in CCU, again, very nice staff. All this time in the hospital I was his only emergency contact. The last time I seen him responsive, he was doing great, which was on a Tuesday. I told the nurse that he just needed to go home. She told me that the doctor can honor that and that she would talk to him the next morning. I was excited. Well, I didn't go Wednesday, I called Thursday to check on him, they tell me he's not there, what!! They told me he was on the 5th floor on Hospice, how Apparently they reached the legal guardian who didn't want to be contacted. I think the only reason she responded was because the police got involved. No one called and told me anything. The legal guardian had a lady that use to be his neighbor(whom he didn't like and she didn't like him) to make a decision to put him on Hospice. He was with Hospice Angels Care, He didn't have a terminal illness to be put on Hospice! I'm sooooo angry about this! They didn't care about him. They took all his stuff and abandoned his body at death! They are murderers. They wanted him dead. I think the hospital should have looked more into this before they had put him on Hospice. When he was on the 5th floor he had rejected Hospice.

My review comes late but I think it needs to be said. I was in and out of ICU last year and I have had to be sent multiple times to MCH over the course of many visits. This hospital doctors and nurses saved my life. I had gone to other hospitals and no one could figure out my diagnosis until I came here. The nurses were kind and answered all my families questions. I was given 5 star treatment throughout my lengthy stay. I would definitely recommend this hospital.

Took my daughter to the ER for severe kidney pain so bad she has been in tears for a few hours. When she approached the lady at the front desk of the ER in obvious pain the first thing she was asked is do you have insurance. Then she appeared to give my daughter attitude. Not how is the pain rating or how long has the pain been going on. The other staff was professional. Once my daughter was moved into a room she was told they could not run an IV fluid due to the fact there is a shortage of fluid. She claimed there was a national shortage of IV fluid..wow.It amazes me the world we live in now.

My sister is currently in the hospital. Gosh there’s so much improvement needed she is currently on the 6th floor & has cancer. Most of the nursing staff are rude as well as lazy & can be heard from the nurses station cursing about patients they don’t allow access to the condiment station & example 1 previously asked for assistance with a coffee around 6am the nurse had responded to my sister’s husband it should be coming on the tray in a little while. Example 2 He has not been offered a guest tray example ( he has been with her for 7 days now) 3 the guest recliner is broke on the arm rest & recliner position is broken therefore my brother-n-law has to sleep sitting up. He asked for another recliner at the nurses station & the nurse said she try to locate one for him. Another nurse replied there’s a broken one in she said a room # then another nurse said yeah there’s another broken one in & she said a different room # then another one chimed in stating the same. Example 4 There is no heater in the bathroom & feels like a refrigerator he asked for assistance with it & they have yet to come in and address it. Don’t get me wrong there are 1 or 2 nurses that have been going above & beyond but for the most of it has been a very bad experience. I can certainly understand why this hospital has a C rating. If you only care about a paycheck then you shouldn’t be a nurse!

I was there today at 2:00 and nobody would see me for a Kidney stone. They told me it wasn’t at the emergency level at the time of the wait of the Lobby because I had been waiting since 3:30.
The girl at the front said it wasn’t an emergency like the rest
She doesn’t have a hydronephrosis. I have CKD 4. This is painful in my back and side with burning urine.
She was unpleasant and unprofessional.
Please treat people with kindness.

Horrible hospital. The worst ever. My 12 yo daughter was seen for sever abdominal pain by Dr Scott Estep and another Dr. Had to fight for a catscan then they came back oh it's just female issues, mittelschmerz, take Tylenol your fine. Asked if the tordal she got helped she said a little she was still at a 6 he said ok I'll send you home with that instead. Then had the charge nurse say oh he changed his mind. What kind of sexiest discrimination is that? Your a female it's just female issues, much less to a 12 year old? So your a hospital based on telling patients you'll help make them comfortable then say oh nevermind. My daughter couldn't even walk straight or get thru half a ultrasound she was in so much pain.

I would give ZERO stars if I could. I took my 2 month old baby who had RSV and they sent us home two times. The second time, an ER nurse who couldn’t even properly check is blood pressure was very rude and told me ā€œhe looks great to me. You can go sit in the waiting area it’ll be a long waitā€ (there was NO one there. It was 5am).
I trust my instincts on MY baby and that nurse and the rest of the staff was very dismissive.
We ended up making a 2 HOUR DRIVE with our sick baby because of how AWFUL the care is at MCH for babies/children. We were immediately admitted for low oxygen.
MCH failed my baby boy and didn’t care to listen. Shame on them.

We had to have my 92 year old uncle taken to the ER because of a fall. He was in pain and some what confused. From the PCT's, the student nurses and paramedics, to his nurses, Evana and Robbie, to Dr. Wussow who listened to him, asked questions and genuinely cared, I want to thank the entire ER team for taking such good care of my uncle. The nurses and doctor took extra imaging because they felt something was wrong even tho they could not see it in the initial ones. A second CT scan found the hip fracture. Dr. Wussow along with our nurses took the time to answer our questions going forward and made sure he was comfortable for the ride to his upstairs room. Odessa is blessed to have a top notch hospital like MCH.
