My husband was admitted to Martin Luther King Hospital for difficulty breathing related to his stage 4 lung cancer with metastasis to his spine and liver. After months on a medically supervised pain regimen with morphine and oxycodone, he had found some relief. However, when he was admitted, the hospital refused to continue his pain medications, leaving him without necessary pain management.

The abrupt withdrawal from his medications seemed to cause severe discomfort and withdrawal symptoms, which added to his suffering. Despite my repeated requests, the medical staff displayed a lack of empathy and urgency in managing his pain. Instead of easing his last days, it felt like he was judged as an addict, rather than treated as a patient in profound need.

In addition, the nursing staff’s handling of him appeared rough and indifferent. I vividly remember how they transferred him to his bed, dragging his extremities, without the consideration one would expect in a hospital setting. These actions added to my husband’s suffering during a vulnerable time when compassion and support were most needed.

I believe that my husband’s rapid decline could have been mitigated with better care and a continuation of his prescribed medications. If pain management had been provided properly, he might have had a more dignified and peaceful experience. I urge the hospital to re-evaluate their approach to terminally ill patients, particularly around pain management and compassionate care

I’ve been here waiting with my 86 year old mother. 4 hrs at least . Everyone is friendly.. I don’t like the emergency room set up.. A tent type structure.. People waiting in the hallways .. Time consuming.. work on another method.. X-rays 2 hrs ago.. just called her for blood lab.. Checked her eyes in the hallway..I think it’s unsanitary.. sick people everywhere and you’re checking patients in the hallways and people are coughing everywhere.. Ridiculous.. I will never come here again

Medical Staff from Emergency to Labor and Delivery were fast acting and has great communication skills.
The Labor and Delivery staff are respectful, patient, kind, and considerate. The Room and Bathroom was very spacious, comfortable, and clean. The 48 hour care I received was awesome. Great Hospital to Deliver a Baby. I had a Grateful experience. Amazing Place.

I never been in this hospital but my mom had a little surgery and everybody was so nice. Helpful. Thank to the nurses Doctor securities to be still helpful and nice at the same time. Thank you

Worst hospital ever ... my loved one was verry sick and they pushed him to be a dnr ... then they moved him to another room and lost his belongings like his wallet. And once he passed rushed us out of the hospital. No sympathy or empathy at all. If i could do 0 stars i would! They still haven't been able to find his belongings and claim no responsibility.

Don't let the smooth taste fool you. They might have changed it up a little bit and remodeled but the nurses are still lazy as hell and their prejudice. I been sitting here with my machine going off & nobody came to fix it. I came in last night by ambulance and they made me sit outside the emergency room in the cold for about 15 minutes. One of the nurses stared at me. I have to admit that I'm very sick and don't feel very well. I have pancreatitis but she said and looked at me and laughed. They're just rude and don't like to do their jobs and that's all they do is talk. I had to call the hospital ER room to ask for a nurse to come in. Don't waste your time coming here

My dad was in the ICU for about a month, I just want to thank the doctors and nurses specially the RT's, they were so professional but most of all, they were caring always asking how we were doing, even the security guard I don't know her name but she's an amazing human being,

I would of gave it a 5 stars because they have wonderful nurses but there are some nurses that are really rude and one of the night shift supervisor was so rude and disrespectful 😒 like I was trying to help out my husband and they talk to you so disrespectful like I know there a lot that you can do but to come at someone trying to help there loves ones. Is not ok to talk to people with disrespect but there are good nurses here in different shifts
