On 1 Aug 2023, Marisabel Rodriguez treated my 83 year-old mother in a condescending, lecturing, and shaming manner when my mother saw her for an illness. It was a horrible experience for my mother, who was then shown out of a side exit door and had to walk all the way around the building by herself, ill. I was in the waiting room, which the doctor knew, yet no one advised me to drive around the building and pick her up. I am not one to write reviews like this, but I am concerned for elderly patients who are left alone with Marisabel Rodriguez. I am grateful that my mom did not have to go home alone, feeling depressed, after her "scolding" and emotional beatdown by Marisabel Rodriguez. So many elderly people don't have an advocate. If you are her patient and are perhaps vulnerable in some way or are elderly, my advice is please don't be alone with her. Also, when I called Marisabel Rodriguez after this appointment to try and discuss that I felt the manner in which she treated my mother was unprofessional and hugely unkind, she spoke over me and told me she was, "not going to have this conversation!" and hung up on me. I was stunned. We all have difficult days and stressful moments...maybe she was having a day like that, but as a medical professional, if she was not able to control her emotions that day, especially when dealing with the elderly, she should not have been at work. Although I tried to remedy this matter by speaking directly with Marisabel Rodriguez, it appears that speaking with a concerned family member is below her pay grade, so today I am mailing a letter to Marisabel Rodriguez with hope that she will reflect on her behavior and the impact it has on others. I will send copies to others in her chain-of-command.
