While trying to convey important information to a psychiatrist here, I was continually interrupted by the psychiatrist with “mom” in what seemed like a warning (and patronizing) tone. I get it. It’s about the child. But so was the information I was trying to convey. Today the information would have been good for the psychiatrist to have, but since she never let me speak, we stand stagnant in the same problem that the psychiatrist is refusing to address. Do better.

not very great service. i only had one appointment with lynette battles and i stopped seeing lifespan after that. i told her at one point during our interview that i had been suicidal in the past and that it was very traumatic and when i left she told me "just dont have one of those breakdowns again and leave us" implying that i would actually do it. made me feel like she just had no faith in me. i dont think it was very professional, mental health professionals are meant to help you and make you feel less crazy but she made me feel just that. lifespan also has no psychiatrist at their facility which is a red flag. all them are just nurse practitioners. im no professional so when i told my therapist about my experience there she thought it was very unprofessional as well and that it was very weird that they actually had no psychiatrist or psychologist. there are certainly better psychiatric services you can try in tallahassee and i suggest always doing your research before booking an appointment.

Lifespan is a top-notch mental health facility. My experience there was remarkable, thanks to Chelsea, my phenomenal therapist. She exhibited exceptional kindness, patience, and empathy, enabling me to heal significantly. I am grateful for the tools she equipped me with, and I would still be with Lifespan if I hadn't moved. Julianne, my psychiatrist, demonstrated remarkable patience and diligence in finding the ideal medicine and dosage for me. Anxiety, obsessive thoughts and fear were taking over my life. Lifespan helped me find peace and solitude again. I cannot recommend them enough. They are also LGBTQ friendly which was important to me. I felt safe in their space.

Had my first appointment with Heather Chasteen. She made me feel so comfortable and even was able to make me laugh when I felt like I was about to start melting down. She is compassionate and actually listened to me as well. She made it so easy to speak to her. Based on my initial experience I would definitely recommend this facility. Everyone who works there is so sweet and welcoming.

I've had ups and downs, mostly due to the psychiatric pain that I go through. This causes me to perceive negativity and hold on to it. This office has gone above and beyond to help ease my symptoms. I don't always get the answers I want, but I do get the attention I need. I know I'm not the easiest patient so I appreciate the patience that everyone has demonstrated to me. I have quite a ways to go, but I hope Lifespan will continue working with me on these issues.

I had a great experience being Mary Wood’s therapy patient. She is so kind and great at listening and remembering things about me.
On the psychiatric side, I had a rough time here. I was on auvelity, which worked great but was very expensive so I asked to switch. I was reassigned to a new doctor (who is no longer at this practice thankfully) and he prescribed me a legendary amount of wellbutrin and abilify. I wish I never went on abilify. I was instructed by the next doctor (after the previous one left) to stop abilify without a taper, and my life hasnt been the same.
Abilify ruined my life and my brain feels completely different. Withdrawals were the worst weeks of my life, and Im wondering when I will go back to normal.
Please ask about medications before you start taking what you were prescribed. Psychiatrists dont always know whats best.

Had my first appointment with Heather and it was the most refreshing doctors appointment I have ever had. I spent approximately an hour and a half with her and she truly listened to what I had to say. She didn't judge me for any of my answers and wanted to make sure everything was right. She even tried to help me with an issue with my pharmacy for a medication prescribed by another provider. Highly recommend!

I began going to therapy for the first time when I had a traumatic event in my life occur. At the time, the office consisted of Julianne and Chelsea. These two women have been more than amazing to me. Especially Chelsea. The help and tools they've provided me has allowed me to reach a point in my life that I never thought I would make. Like any professional office there are hiccups at time, however I have seen this place grow compared to what it was and their hospitality, compassion, and attention to patients never once wavered. If you're seeking to better your life if a comfortable environment I couldn't recommend this place more.
