Sandi D. Was the best possible nurse anyone could have. Such positive energy and so supportive. She made my labor and delivery experience the best it could have possibly been. She gave reassurance, listened to me and made me feel heard and calmed my anxiety about pushing. I am so lucky to have had her as my nurse.

Dr. Hallam was INCREDIBLE!!! I couldn’t ask for a better Dr. he was understanding and reassuring and made me feel like I could do it and took away all my nerves and worries and truly listens to what you say and doesn’t brush you off and make it seem like symptoms you have are just apart of pregnancy as some Drs do. I can’t say enough good things about him, I hope that I have him as my Dr for my 3rd baby. When Dr. Hallam changed practices to The Women’s Center I changed my insurance and pay another $200 a month as well as drive 40 minutes round trip just to have him, that’s how great of a Dr he is.

Overall, all nurses and staff went above and beyond and I couldn’t thank them enough for helping me, validating me and making me feel so comfortable that I didn’t want to leave the hospital to go home.

10/10—The Best Birth Experience at Lakewood Ranch!

I cannot say enough amazing things about my experience at Lakewood Ranch Medical Center and the incredible team that took care of me. Kris Robinson at University Park OBGYN was absolutely amazing! She made me feel so calm, supported, and confident throughout my entire labor. Thanks to her incredible care, I had the most peaceful, unmedicated birth with absolutely no tearing! She has such a gentle and reassuring presence, truly listens, and respects your choices, making the whole experience feel so empowering.

My nurses, Emily and Amanda, were beyond incredible. They were so kind, attentive, and supportive, making sure I was as comfortable as possible every step of the way. Their encouragement and care made all the difference, and I am so thankful for them! The rooms are so beautiful the meals are amazing it felt like a hotel stay!

Not only was my birth experience perfect, but everyone at Lakewood Ranch Medical Center was so sweet and helpful throughout my entire stay. From the moment I arrived to the time I left, I felt so taken care of. If you’re looking for a team that will make you feel safe, heard, and completely supported, I can’t recommend Kris Robinson, my amazing nurses, and the entire Lakewood Ranch team enough. Thank you for everything! 🤎

I had a wonderful experience at Angie’s birth education class! The quality of information, coping techniques, and interaction is comparable to what you would get from personalized support. All I knew going into the class was what I heard from various mother’s experiences, and I left the class feeling comfortable with how the birthing process works, why things happen, what tools I can use, and how to make the best decisions for my birth. Angie is a very knowledgeable teacher and is able to answer so many of my questions.

After researching hospitals to deliver, Lakewood Ranch Medical Center came out on top. The actual delivery experience was better than I could have ever dreamt up. The facility is recently renovated; clean and bright. The private rooms are spacious and well thought out. The facility is calm and welcoming.
Those things are important for comfort but where it really shines is the care. I had a scheduled induction and the arrival process was seamless. They explain how everything operates in great detail. From meal service to what to expect through the process. The nurses are top of the line. I ended up being at the facility for a total of 5 days with issues and a readmission of preeclampsia. So throughout the duration, I had around 10 different nurses. Each one of them was exceptional. They are thoughtful and caring and genuinely care about the best start for you and your baby. For a first time mom like me, they were essential on teaching breast feeding, sleep habits and preparing you for being discharged. All while being mindful of your rest. Most importantly , they are skilled, knowledgeable and experienced in deliveries and issues. Special shout out to the nurses who went above and beyond- Jordan, Jess, Mandy, Amanda, Delilah and Susan.

Had the pleasure of delivering my second baby at LWRWC. It was such a redeeming experience compared to my first delivery at Sarasota Memorial. The nurses were never in a rush and spent hours talking with my husband and I. The staff went into great detail with any questions or concerns. The lactation consultant spent about 45 minutes with me and it’s because of her I have been successful breastfeeding.

This was the first time I been to a hospital that I actually got help and felt like a patient seeking help !! So many times I been to smh for the same episode . They only stuck me in a corner or hallway for 8 hours and did nothing .this hospital was so nice and so imformative and I felt so much better when I left !!thank you director James Livington!!! First off Jordyn was great.

Responsiveness of staff was pretty quick although I have nothing to compare it to.

Our issues we had with the stay was we filled out our birth plan and handed it to them but it must not have been read because they were asking questions about some stuff and ignored other things

I’m not going to write every gripe here but one example is we wanted to keep our placenta brought an entire cooler with us and everything and nobody said anything so we assumed they just threw it away.

We would have spoken up but we went in right when we were supposed to go to sleep and ended up 48 hours with no sleep so both of us were really out of it.

Nothing was explained either so you have to remember everything or ask if you’re unsure. Hoping you have enough sleep to be able to process stuff as well enough to ask. Have to ask about celebration food and when we can have it, how do we order it, etc. and this goes for the regular food as well like do we have to pay extra for it and things like that.

We also were told we would be billed after the delivery and then right before the due date (less than a week) we were told we have to pay 4500 upon discharge or 6k if we didn’t.

Overall I think can summarize it to the staff being so used to everything they forget that their patients have never been there and don’t know anything about the stay. Not sure if they have enough staff there or if they just aren’t considerate of the fact we literally have had 0 sleep for 2 days and can’t even think straight at the current time.

LWRMC labor and delivery team truly went above and beyond during my stay! Every member of the care team provided exceptional treatment, done so with patience and kindness. I cannot say enough good things about my experience, and would definitely go back to deliver future babies!
The only con was the rooms definitely got on the warmer side, but the nurses did everything in their power to help fix that issue.
