This place is a big fall black leviathan that wants you to get sick from preventable diseases and die. I tried to get a Tetanus vaccination, and my pharmacist said they don't cover it. Tetanus? I went to their website portal to check my coverage. I click on "View Coverage Details" hyperlink. And the next screen is just the exact same screen, without the link for coverage. Thanks for having my back, I might as well go to the black market in order to get a regular vaccine. What is the point of being insured with your company?

I just want to rate the phone center service as we are new patients. It has been really good. Worlds better than Aetna and Healthnet. With those you could spend weeks on the phone trying to get basic info! Would never go back to those types. LA Care phone reps even better than Anthem Blue Cross to me. They are all very helpful and knowledgeable which has been a first for us when calling a health insurance for assistance!

I would give zero stars if I could, because, thanks to this healthcare service, i'm actually worse off. You see, they provided me with a primary care physician who wasn't accepting new patients, and I needed to go to the emergency room four I clot in my kidney. Naturally, I need to follow this. Visit up with a nephrology appointment, which I found the next year. Next day amazingly, however, I would have to pay cash because I didn't have a referral.I wish I was totally fine life, only thing is this doctor had called me back and said they couldn't accept cash because they had an arrangement with the insurance company made it impossible for them to do that. Even though my primary care physician provided me by LA care wasn't accepting you patients and the tens of sequent doctors, they tried to connect me to were also not expecting second new patients. I was unable to pay cash at an actual doctor's office because if they're contracts. They are essentially preventing healthcare. Now I still need doctors, but because it's the middle of the month and they need to change provider networks. I would not be able to let me get any referrals that I would need until the next month because that's their policy, because I was changing groups from who is providing me healthcare. Even though nobody is providing me healthcare. Run as far as you can from this company. Maybe burn, I like the Palisades into the ground.

the worst health plan
My son is disabled , 3 months waiting for the insurance to pay for son hearing aid , calling several times waiting for almost 2 hours to speak with a representative.

last time I called they told me everything was taking care of that the clinic should receive the payment before October , is October 8 and nothing just told me they don’t any records or anything of my conversation really? I can’t wait to switch insurance and report this , I would call the state department if I have too 😡

Subject: Grave Failure of LA Care insurance in Addressing Critical Medical Needs
I am writing to expose the severe failures I’ve experienced under LA Care. Despite my repeated pleas for a case manager to navigate critical and life-altering medical issues, LA Care has ignored my situation, leaving me in deteriorating health.
Nearly two years ago, I sustained serious injuries in a hospital. These injuries have been ignored and ‘brushed under thecarpet’ with my medical records falsified, symptoms omitted, and physical exams neglected. Speaking up and explaining how these injuries occurred has led to ongoing retaliation, not only from hospitals but also from primary care doctors and urgent care facilities.
My critical need for medical care and the extreme situation I face I presented numerous times to LA Care, explaining that I am being denied ethical and proper medical care as a result of the incorrect and inaccurate information that is being documented in my medical chart, along with my reported symptoms as well as objective symptoms are being omitted and dismissed. These challenges have been further neglected by LA Care’s persistent disregard and willingness to turn a blind eye.
Over time, my condition has worsened significantly. I suffer from neurological damage, memory loss, cognitive challenges, and physical disabilities that prevent me from enjoying the active, outdoor lifestyle I once loved. Despite having LA Care health insurance through Medi-Cal, I cannot access necessary daily medications due to ongoing retaliation, putting me at further risk for serious health complications like cardiovascular disease, stroke and other preventable diseases.
In August 2024, an MRI revealed an ovarian tumor with characteristics of malignancy. Despite this alarming finding, systemic failures and medical retaliation have forced me to make the heartbreaking decision to stop seeking care altogether further jeopardizing my health.
The multiple calls requesting a case manager have been met with indifference. This experience reflects a deeper systemic failure within the Medi-Cal system and the health insurances that medi-cal patients rely on and are faced with inadequate care and dismissal based on their insurance status.
Health insurance is mandatory in California. LA Care’s failure to uphold quality care and patient advocacy has not only harmed me but exposes the disparities millions of patients face with your company.
To LA Care: you’ve had many chances to address this, yet you’ve chosen to perpetuate this broken system knowingly putting my life in jeopardy and ignoring my plea for help. This is not just about my life—it’s about the countless others whose health and dignity are at risk.

Huge shout out to LA CARE! I am a case manager at a small clinic. I helped out with transportation through your health plan and it’s been amazing! All my patients are following up with their specialities and getting the medical care they need. Member preventatives are always willing to help. Keep up the great work!

The DMV must have had layoffs and they all got jobs as customer service reps at LA Care. I'm talking about doornail dumb. They are scripted and will run you in circles. This must be a DEI company. They are unable to walk thru the charges on my hospital bill. I guess I'll have to go to court to get them to discuss the billing breakdown.

Almost a year later. I called about a procedure code. They said "we don't use CPT codes"? WHAT these are standard AMA code used in every medical practice! What exactly is L.A. Care? More like L.A. Joke

Then you get the insincere "Response from the owner" that does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to help resolve the issue. LAME!!

I am ready to switch off of this insurance. They sent me to 4 different pharmacies when trying to fill my medication and delayed my medication for 2 months, which set me back years of progress. They refused doctor's appointments even though I choose this plan specifically because my doctor was in the network. Anything that is authorized is not paid by the company and I get billed for it anyways. And now, I'm giving the same run around regarding my medication. Claim they "don't have a pre-authorization" saying "it's not the right pharmacy". Always "we'll get back to you" and no one ever calls me back. I have to talk to a supervisor to get any sort of help and it still took two weeks to get my meds and now 6 months later, I'm back to where I was calling them everyday to get my medication reauthorized and preauthorized doctor visits - still unpaid. Cannot wait to switch off this insurance. I have never had this insurance before.
