I stayed here this week. I got out in 6 days, but VTO'd a day because I wanted to leave with Medi-Cal and a prescription for ear drops I needed (which would have typically been available at discharge, but they take care of people, including me, and the pharmacy ran out.). I was real sick physically and have a few huge life changes I am grieving.

While there I was able to heal. I was taken care. It was unusual how genuinely we were well cared for I was by all the staff. For example, I wanted to be out because of a few important dates and honestly went off and was saying how I didn't care about being there anymore or how long I stayed if I didn't get out when I wanted to. I wanted the information from my phone to call my therapist IMMEDIATELY. Instead of threatening me with meds and restraints, they heard me through and through. They understand why I was angry, validated it, then got me what I felt I needed to be better, that number. But, they also went above and beyond and asked if there was anyone else number and got my mom and sister's for me too. I got transferred there from another facility and they refused to do that for me when I asked because my phone was dead and they "couldn't do that" when I told them I had a charger with me.

When I got home from Kedren, my phone was fully charged.

This type of care isn't isolated to me. The people at Kedren understand their jobs. It feels like they know how impactful they can be and truly do their best. You'll hear more than once if you're willing "I know anyone can end up here." Or some variation because they don't just work with patients they, meet them and interact with them and really believe that's true. So, they're helping us feel better, get out and be able to thrive.

On your way out, everyone is happy for you and reminds you with love that they don't want to see you back there. I'm like "I'll be back if I need to be!" Lol

But, then I got home and was good and processed the plans I made before discharge and got it. No, I won't be in another hospital because not only do I have a safety plan, but because I left with plans and intent for an overall improved life. Next time instead of padded sock stay, I'll be on vacation as maintenance for my good mental health.

Best advice I have is to take advantage of a place started and still existing to help you. The workers care and it reflects in the patient community. If you do your best you'll get the best out of it. And talk, it's not like they can tell your business. Some of them work there because they understand. Utilize the place for your good. Let them feed into you and let yourself feel good.

They push pills and then don't help you get refills.
Kedren is So negligent it's appalling ...

They should not even be allowed to give patient care!

They would be sued more for medical malpractice, but they service an impoverished mentally-Ill community.
Worst place ever!

Covid testing for up to 150 slots a complete LIE, doors were closed to people that had appointments for 10:30-11am and doors closed at 10:45am. Multiple patients came back a second day after being turned away with appointments the day before and got turning away again.

Multiple kids for school and people for work testing waited for over 1 hour to talk to a medical supervisor, that never came. A number for IRENE was given to people to call and never picked up went straight to voicemail.

Worst services ever and they are part of the problem for individuals with mental health issues because they are all incompetent to help anyone and make it difficult to receive treatment. They are there for the money and not the patient. Hopefully, they change their system.

Very Greatful for unspoken reason for the awesome staff members who assisted in one of the most difficult time in my life 12/26/2023. Thanks to the staff whom allowed the securuty officer to assist me in getting some help in a crticial time in my life. Bless you both. I would really like to thank God for Terri Kennedy-Johnson LMFT and Erica Mora for assisting me like no one else could other than God when I needed it. God Bless You Terri and Erica. Have a Blessed New Years and Hope to visit you both again on better times in my life.

Was told they were releasing one of my family members when they were not. Strung me along for hours on the phone without giving me any information whatsoever even though I am the emergency contact. Was told I would get a call from a Case Worker? even though I never did. I’m now being ignored by the facility. Would love to pick up my family member. Thanks.

Kedren is amazing! They're efficient, well staffed, and well run. I got both of my vaccine shots from Kedren earlier in the year.

Today, after being on vacation for Christmas, I wanted to get tested for the Omicron variant as a safeguard for my family. Everywhere else in L.A. had apocalyptic lines for testing, whereas at Kedren I was in-and-out in 1 hour. Thank you so much to Kedren and their staff.
