I love the Kaiser in Santa Cruz.

First, Dr. Burke is an outstanding OBGYN. She is compassionate, a good listener, and really takes time with you to make you feel cared for. This is what high-quality women's health is supposed to feel like.

The pharmacy is always super friendly, and the wait has always been short for me. Pro tip: there is a very reasonable parking garage on Locust, just a short walk away from the office.

If you are a commuter, my E-bike has always been safe on the Cooper St. side, which is located a few steps from the entrance.

Love how new the office is. The staff is super friendly and I was seen immediately, even though I was a few minutes late!
As part of my visit I got three vaccinations and four blood draws. It was over so quickly. I really enjoyed the expertise of the nurse and the effortlessness of the entire experience. Five stars

My wife and I were newly assigned to Dr. Orndorff. She listened to us carefully, renewed prescriptions, made referrals to specialists. She really took pains to take care of us. As "refugees" from the Pacific Palisades fire, we really appreciated her concern for us

Kaiser is and always has been amazing to me. With my prior insurance, I would have to wait on the phone line for an hour to try to schedule an appointment with my doctor which would be 6 months out. With Kaiser I can send an email or call in, and 5 minutes later I have an appointment for tomorrow. Medication is way more affordable. $10 versus $600 elsewhere. Also Kaiser's more organized about recordkeeping and all the doctors know about other doctors I've seen and my results. I find them to be kind and caring. It's true that you have to stay at Kaiser offices but if you have an ER grade emergency you can go to any non-Kaiser hospital and they will cover it.

I was able to schedule this appointment with my primary care doctor within a week. I wanted to update her on my experiences with a couple of prescriptions and get her advice. It was important I speak to her and not another who might not know my particulars. I also liked meeting with her in person rather than on a call.

Overall this place has been very nice, no longer having to go to Scott’s Valley to get my blood drawn/go to the pharmacy has been a huge improvement and makes having Kaiser in Santa Cruz actually feasible. I do wish they were open longer and also had urgent care (maybe between floors 3 and 5?) but it’s still a valuable place. I know y’all read these reviews, so feel free to present this to Kaiser management to advocate for continuing to expand the space 😅
