This place should be shut down. Very unprofessional and rude none-caring people. I went in for extreme eye pain on a Sunday. My lense had dislocated and was stabbing me in the eye. I needed help was in so much pain and of course all the eye clinics are closed on Sundays. I was throwing up from so much pain I was going through. I went in they stuck me in a room for 5 hours in straight pain. No one came to check in on me while I was screaming in agony. Finally a lady showed up and she told me I needed to see a real dr there is nothing they can do for me. Sent me home with eye lub. My husband noticed in the trash can in the room they had disposed blood in a regular trash can.. it wasn't even in a biohazard bag or thrown in the main disposable area. They just tossed blood vials in a trash can. After leaving this place my husband explained to me when we first showed up there was hardly anyone thier. Parking lot was empty and the lobby. But they stick me in a room for hours.. when people showed up they ignored me and took the others that were showing up. I also noticed people bringing young kids in the hallway where sick patients are at and letting them play around like it was a playground.. the place needs to be checked into because this place is not good at taking care of emergencies.

It doesn't take over 6 hours for a pregnancy test through a pee sample. I came in there cause I found out I was pregnant and I was having bleeding and didn't know what was happening. They checked me in after 30 minutes, put me in a room, took my blood and a pee sample and then waited over 6 hours to tell me that I'm not pregnant or had a miscarriage, which I had 2 at home pregnancy test that were positive and I was told I was pregnant at the wellness center. The doctor didn't explain any further. I've also been to this ER for 2 suicide attempts in the past, we even called to let them know ahead of time to notify them of my overdoses both times but honestly you'd probably die before they even try anything. Started seizuring out in the waiting room for them to try.

I was told by multiple people to use Clarksville instead of St. Mary's. We took my 14 month old to the Johnson county ER for unknown pain, fever, and GI issues. We were there for a total of 5 hours. The first doctor said he had an ear infection. I am very aware of the signs of ear infections and he showed no signs. Once I said that I didn't believe that was it, he did an X-ray and blood draw. Xray came back normal, as did the blood draw. The next doctor said he didn't see any signs of an ear infection, but that could have been because of ear wax build up. Instead of removing the wax, he shoved the otoscope into my baby's ear canal and caused an abrasion on the canal. We were told at that point that they didn't know why he was in pain. After 5 hours of no answers and my baby still randomly screaming in pain, I made an appointment with our pediatrician at Millard Henry. Within 10 mins, she came up with 3 different possible issues. We are currently waiting on test results. She also removed the ear wax and confirmed NO ear infection. She also said that if he would have been given antibiotics for an "ear infection" and test positive for one of the suspected issues, it would have caused irreversible kidney damage!

The nurses NEVER checked on us for the 5 hours we were there. When telling the first doctor his symptoms, I informed him of a dairy allergy. He responded with, "Well, has he been drinking milk?" Obviously milk isn't the only thing with dairy proteins, and why would I give my baby something he's allergic to?! Uneducated on allergies at an ER.

Do NOT recommend, especially for pediatric. We will be going to Children's ER from now on if after hours. Would rate 0 stars if possible.

Edit to add - we got there at 4:30am. We were told it was taking so long because they had to see the patients who arrived via ambulance first. Understandable, however we were moved into a room right by the ambulance entrance and saw one person come in within 4 hours.

UPDATE
He had a virus caused by bacteria in water that he had been in contact with. That was never suggested as a possible issue until we saw his pediatrician.

I've always heard/read bad things about this place so I think it's only fair to share my good experience to balance things out. From walk-in to discharge was a total of 3 hours, which for any emergency room is very good. They did blood work, an ultrasound, and an x-ray to diagnose my problem and rule out other issues. Every staff member I came into contact with was nice and caring and the facility was clean. Dr. Cotner was thorough, kind, and very patient when I had questions. Maybe I just got lucky with who was working (I've heard other doctors there may not be so great) but as far as my experience goes, I have nothing but positive things to say. If I ever need ER help again, I'll cross my fingers for Dr. Cotner.

The emergency room is the worst I’ve ever been at. I went, because I was really sick on a Saturday morning around 1:20am. It was 5 am before I was even seen by anyone. Then the following Sunday evening my son was sick as well, so we went there around 6:20 and it was 8:30 and we were never seen. We left because he was crying to go home. I will start driving the extra miles to another
Hospital Before I ever use Johnson County regional medical again

This emergency room is a joke. Its such s hit or miss as to if you'll get competent staff. They will also put you in a room after seeing you in the triage and just forget about you. I suggest not wasting your time and actual go to a decent ER.
