During my first physical exam with Dr. Nguyen, he was very well mannered and easy to talk to. I tweaked my ankle a week before the physical and brought it up to him during the exam. It had already been feeling healed, but I figured I’d ask about it anyways to be safe. He basically stretched it around and gave me some tips on recovery.

Then a month later, I get billed $400 for a diagnostic review of an ankle injury (separate charge from my physical). The billing department has already done a review and they say they can’t do anything unless the doctor makes an addendum to his notes. I was never informed by Dr. Nguyen that asking about my ankle during my physical would result in a separate charge. If I had known that I never would have brought it up. I’ve tried calling Dr. Nguyen’s office multiple times and have been told I would hear back from them but have heard nothing or they tell me to go back to the billing department. The administration seems so disorganized and makes it so difficult for patients to talk to the right people. I was hoping he could be my primary care physician but I will now be looking elsewhere.

Dr. Nguyen was very receptive to me transitioning to be my Primary Care Physician, as my previous doctor now gets to enjoy retirement. I found from the first consult that Dr. Nguyen took the time to listen and engage with me to get an overall picture of my health and well being. He made recommendations to fine tune the dosage of meds, ordered an imaging of my knee, and gave me tips to continue enjoying my active senior lifestyle. Mahalo

This doctor seems to be 100% competent. He never fails to answer my questions to my complete satisfaction. His manner is unusually pleasant, and he never seems to be trying to get out of the room as fast as he can. I think he's amongst the very best.

While the administration process with Sutter is challenging the exam with Dr Nguyen made me feel he was in the moment and actually listening to me and my concerns. He seems young, enthusiastic and engaged. I would recommend his services if you should have the chance.
