I had a great experience. They did an awesome professional job. I couldn't have been more surprised. I was treated with great hospitality and a nice room. Every Nurse and Doctor was very patient and awesome. I feel way better after two days. I had tonsillitis and strep throat.

Wow... I haven't been here in years and can I say the state of it now in the ER is pitiful. Filthy fishtank, dirty floors, rude nurses and disrespectful staff. You can clearly tell they don't care. They're rude and dismissive to the poor and immigrant patients and it's really clear to see they are trying to do as little as IA physically possible. I even saw them blatantly discriminate against homeless families and refuse them treatment and medication. I will NEVER return to this hospital I am definitely changing permanently. One word GROSS.

Very uncomfortable environment with metal detectors and more security staff than nurses and doctors questioning people going in, coming out even when in my car trying to find parking space to park. My mother had a total knee replacement and she was confused and limited with English language; I was told that I couldn’t stay with her although I drove 1:30 minutes to bring her in. This is the last time I’m bringing her back.

I was rushed here lights & sirens after a really bad accident

The nurses & doctors were amazing. I was in severe pain & one of the nurses held my hand & walked me through what the doctors & other nurses were doing.

After staying in recovery for about 3 days I got discharged but not before meeting one of the coolest Petting Therapy Dogs named Aspen.

The staff here is friendly but they are overworked.... What I mean by this is I kept having to wait when I went there, and when I asked why I had to wait so much a nurse told me they are understaffed. I asked if this happens a lot and they said it just how they do things. I asked a few other nurses and they told me the same thing. I'm very sorry but corporate greed over health again. Seems like all hospitals care about is how much money they can milk from our suffering. So sad.

*3 SEPARATE EXPERIENCES*(staying here/c-section/NICU)

Staying in the Antepartum(June 27-july 29) I had placenta previa, which meant that I stayed there for that period of time, until I reached 34 weeks and I would deliver my baby via c-section. The hospital is basically your home for that time. My time there, went as best as it could have gone. The nurses were all very sweet and kind(except 1) they visit you every time you need to get monitored or when they needed to make there assessment. Fairly easy things, check blood pressure, temperature. The food there isn't all bad. As a pregnant women, It wasn't too shabby. A nutritionist calls your room to ask what you would like for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Snacks are also available, upon request. The shower is small So prepare for that. If you know you'll be there for some time, bring things that will comfort you while you stay. I had my families pictures, and blankets from home. As there is not much to do, but watch TV, listen to music. You do get 30 min of outside time(recess..lol) they have a decent patio. I'd take walks out there, when the weather permitted. Nights are a little tough, they let you sleep but you will also get woken up twice(for different reasons). Overall my stay was good. The condition of the room was fine, I do think the shower could use an update. It was kinda hard to use.

C-section EXPERIENCE BEFORE/AFTER- this was my first ever major surgery. I was terrified to say the least!!! The nurses and doctors made me feel as comfortable as they possibly could for that day. I was very vocal about how nervous I was, and they took that into consideration. Asked if I wanted a specific nurse by my side, I could pick out music to listen to during the procedure, who I wanted with me during the procedure(fam member). my baby was out quick! Afterwards they took care of me which took no more than 40 min.(AFTER) Then after resting for half the day, later I was able to meet my baby and do skin to skin. For me I was in pain, but it wasn't super awful! You will be walking and getting up, it's for the healing process! If you are in any major pain, and what they are giving you just isn't enough, SPEAK UP! They are there to keep you healthy and as comfortable as possible(considering what your gonna go through, ask for help if needed). Your stomach area will be pressed down, and yes this won't feel good. But it's just brief! Take a deep breath for it and brace yourself. I was discharged after 5 days in the post partum room(idk what they actually call it).

Tips
- if the nutritionist hasn't called you, ask the nurse if they can call for you to speak to them.(trust me,otherwise you'll get small portions)

-the nurses can also place an order of food for you, if its early enough in the morning though.(in my experience, 1 of the nurses did this for me)

-ask all the questions you want! Never feel like your doing too much. Your just advocating for yourself, and you should know all that will happen prior, during, and after the c-section.

-children under 12 aren't allowed to visit. They can outside though. They have a small area where you can hang out.

-Covid vaccine cards are requested if visiting or a recent test.

NICU-the nurses are there to help and assist. But you get to do hands on with your baby. Changing diaper, taking the temperature and eventually feed your baby(breast/ bottle). When your baby is breathing on hes/her own, you'll be in a different room. Me and my husband did as much as the nurses let us help with. Every night at midnight, they get weight. Each baby is assigned a nurse, but that nurse might have between 3-4 babies to care for. Be kind and patient, after all they are caring for your child. Be as helpful to them as you can! In the end you are taking your baby home, so do the cares(what they call changing diapers, taking temperature)so you can get use to them. Depending on your babies needs, you'll have different doctors coming to visit and update on things. Like a Lactation consultant, speech therapist, the doctor ofcourse!

This place is amazing. Truly. Had my 2nd baby via C-section in 2019. Had a massive postpartum hemorrhage at home 5 days later and almost died. They rushed me into surgery and gave me multiple blood transfusions and saved my life. I had my 4th C-section and baby this year. I was high risk so they delivered him a month and a half early. It was scary as I had a team of 18 in the OR. They made sure I was comfortable. So professional. My baby was in the NICU for 41 days and the nurses there were phenomenal. This is the place I go to for any issues. I even drove my daughter an hour here from a softball tournament where she broke her leg. All my experiences have been great.
