I absolutely love Dr. Cockerel. He really care and compassionate. He listens to what you have to say and doesn't rush you out like some doctors do. One time he spent 40 minutes with me just listening to everything that I needed to get out and do what I was concerned about. I probably made him have a hactic day but he really wants to do what he needs do to help you. I'm so glad I found him because he is the best doctor that I have ever been to!!!

Everything the other reviewers have said. I have never met a doctor that when he walks in the door it is clear he genuinely cares about you and anything you are concerned about or want to talk about he listens. He spends all the time you need for your appointment. He is extremely knowledgeable and picks up on things you don't say he senses it and addresses it and makes you feel so comfortable and cared for. My daughters aged out of the pediatric side and were so sad at leave Dr winningham(another outstanding Dr) and had such trouble with other offices not communicating or whatever but Dr Cockerell has been a God send.

So I usually don't do reviews, but I HAD to tell the world how amazing this place is! Dr. John Allen Cockerell is the best doctor EVER! He is so attentive to each and every need of each of his patients, and he's an ACTIVE listener, which is very important when you are being seen. He makes everything as easy and smooth as possible for his patients...even if it makes his job harder on himself. I absolutely LOVEEEEE him and this practice and am sooo glad God led me to him for my healthcare needs.

Ditto on what the other reviewers have said! Dr. Cockerell is the absolute best doctor hands down! He became my PCP by chance after my insurance asigned him . im extremely nervous when it has anything to do with doctors and i do not trust easily. But the moment he came into the exam room and said hello talking with me and actually listening to what I was saying I instantly was at ease. I trust this man with my life and without a doubt I know he cares and has my best interests at heart. If he ever moves to another city, I am moving wherever he goes. I feel blessed to be in his care.

Dr. Cockerell is the best PCP i've ever had. He listens to all my concerns and is very patient in answering all my questions. He also made me feel very welcomed when he came in the room. You can tell he cares about his patients. I would recommend him to anyone who was looking for a new doctor!

What can I say about Dr. Cockerell so that I can effectively convey how impressed I have been with him as a physician? He first became my primary care doc by chance several years ago when I was still caught up in the revolving door of primary care physicians at the UAMS Family Practice Clinic. He ALWAYS knew exactly who I was before he entered the room, listened to me attentively, and NEVER made me feel rushed. I was so happy that FINALLY chance brought me to a competent doctor that actually cared about his patients. I was greatly saddened the day he told me that he was leaving UAMS because "being part of that revolving door was not why he chose primary care as his specialty; that it was because he wanted to cultivate long-term relationships w/his patients." He, of course, invited me to follow him to his new group in Sherwood, if I felt so inclined. I wanted to desperately, however, insurance would not allow. Several years later (once I finally got good insurance) first thing I did was look up Dr. Cockerell and make an appointment so that he could again, be my primary care physician. I've been to far more doctors over the past 10+ years than I care to admit, but few stuck in my mind like Dr. Cockerell. I travel from WLR to Sherwood to see him. Heck, I'd go further if I had to. After several years, he hadn't changed a bit. He still knew exactly who I was. I couldn't believe that he remembered me. BUT HE DID! He's humble, kind, down-to-earth, believes in holistic medicine too and goes by the creedo, "If I don't know the answer/solution to your trouble then I will make sure to get you to the person/people who do." One of his nurses summed it up best imho. She told me that they all believe in the same philosophy that Dr. Cockerell does. She said, "We treat you like family because that's how we want our family to be treated."
