Those here with access issues should call Hill or their insurer/health plan and ask for a case manager. It’s a free service and can assist with all these issues. I am a Former employee, so no skin in this anymore. There is a wait for specialists in the Sacramento area due to a shortage of specialists (who wants to live in sac if you can afford a nicer area maybe?) Again, a case manager may help you with this. Hill is owned in part by Dignity and Blue. However, Hill still has to compete with larger Dignity for providers, so that is a disadvantage for Hill. PCP info is fed to Hill by the health plans, so that is the insurance/health plan controlling that. I have had Hill PCPs myself and those offices were caring and provided quality care. If you have an HMO, you will have to wait on authorization. Pay for a PPO plan and you won’t. That’s true everywhere. HMOs can be horrible, for sure, due to network limitations to try to control costs and keep premiums lower (than PPOs). It’s a get what you pay for kind of thing and none of it is cheap. Maybe vote for candidates promoting universal healthcare, so that the best care isn’t only for those who can afford to pay top dollar? We all know our system is broken.

Absolutely terrible. My PCP called to cancel my appointments three times now because Hill Physicians Group would not assign me to my PCP. Despite calling them four times now, speaking to my insurance to help fix this, it's been 10 days now and still no change on my status. Every time I call, Hill tells me that I just need to wait 24-48 hours for my status to change. Their response is always "the enrollment office is working on it." How many 24 hr timeframes will it be until they finally give me a doctor?

I would give zero stars if I could, issue referrals that don't exist, issue Rx that never get approved. but the doctor provides great service, but I cant see any specialists or book appointments with fake referral forms.

I'm giving Hill one star and I wish I could give them 0 stars. They took over Dignity Health and everyone who had Dignity was automatically switched over to Hill. Mine and my son’s primary doctor are both in Redwood City but all their specialist are in San Francisco. My son desperately needs to see a specialist and the only referral I can get in in San Francisco and they can't get him in for 3 over weeks. This is absolutely unacceptable. Why would I have our primary doctors 30 miles away from all approved specialist and in San Francisco where we have to wait weeks for an appointment. It just makes no sense at all.

While they answered the phone fairly quickly, I went to a doctor assigned by this group via Blueshield and my information was not in their database so the doctor refused to see me. Blueshield verified they should have seen me. The data should have been in the database.

Worst medical group I have had the misfortune of working with! They lose referrals/documentation then blame it on the PCP’s office. AVOID this group at all costs! They will kill you while waiting for their approval on just about anything! If I could give ZERO stars I would!
