My mother in law was there 3 days and passed away..the food we sent for her to eat was never used..when I went there there was a Brite light shinning in her face so she could not sleep..they assured me they would get it fixed..then she was in the bed with a soaked diaper on and 62 degrees in the room with no blanket..the staff was rude and un professional..I complained to the director and nursing staff to no avail..I made many surprise visits there..now she is Dead..I'm hiring a atty..for elderly abuse

My wife just got released after several weeks of care at Heather hills. The rooms are outdated but the place is kept clean and the staff is excellent. She received great care and had therapists who did everything they could to meet her physical and emotional needs. The food was often quite delicious and meals well balanced.

First of all, the nurses who took care of my dad were all 5 star. They even cared about me when he died. But if you're looking for a director and staff who care about patients or families, please go elsewhere. Many things are promised, but never delivered. I even gave a $200 dollar gift card to the director to share with her staff, but do you think it was even acknowledged that she received it. Hell no! Such a sad and dirty place.

I have toured several places in the area, while trying to find a place for my amazing mother. Heather Hill has been wonderful to work with especially Angelo who has made the process of getting mom accepted and set up for transport so easy. Great communications and the facility while older is very clean and has a warm and caring vibe to it. This has been such a hard time seeing mom down, but I truly feel she is going to get excellent care and nurturing with Heather Hill.

I wouldn't allow my worst enemy to stay here. The staff was horrible to my father in law to the point they had to open an investigation. They only started to do their jobs after we called them with every issue and asked for daily updates. Staff yell at their patients and we heard it numerous times ourselves when my father in law still had us on speaker phone and the staff wasn't aware. One nurse offered to do gummies with him saying she could get them from her son!! I could go on with all the issues he had but I'll just say be very careful before sending your loved one here. Do your homework. Check the Medicare website for their rating first.

I know staff reads these and before replying back... just don't. We don't care to hear any more excuses. We got him out of there and took him off all the pain meds you were pushing. He's doing 100x better than you claimed he was. That's easy when you actually listen to his needs and not keep him medicated so you don't have to deal with him. With the kind of care he received, I'm surprised you still have a license to operate!

*Update to Heather Hill response.... you were informed of the problems and some still continued. You were told to NOT give him PRN medication and you still continued. There are so many other issues we could bring up but I think I've said enough in hopes others will reconsider choosing this facility. Nothing more needs to be said. As a side note, abuse was reported immediately after we found out. Instead of an apology, we were told that it didn't happen. Many nurses and staff wanted to diagnose - they aren't doctors and having a medical background myself, I know what is legal and ethical and what's not. This was just a horrible horrible place and I hope a deeper investigation happens to clean Heather Hill up so others never have to go through what he did.

If you’re an agency CNA don’t bother picking up shifts here…you’ll be canceled about 80% of the time. It’s unprofessional and shows poor planning and execution by their staffing coordinator and DON. Their CNA staffing is always in limbo (one day they’ll cancel all agency because they over staffed, the next day no one shows up to work and they’re scrambling) and a lot of the patients are real jerks. If you’re looking for continuity in care , this ain’t your spot. Their permanent staff is minimal so chances are you’re going to get a different agency aide everytime. Overall, it’s okay if you get in there (housekeeping does a really good job keeping the place relatively clean) but for the aforementioned reasons it’s not ideal.

The nursing staff are welcoming and genuinely concerned about the residents. They provide holistic and culturally sensitive care that is above what is average for long-term care facilities. The center, while dated in some areas, is clean, tidy and appropriately appointed. I can't say enough great things about what happens at Heather Hill. To the administration and staff, kudos.
