Old material, still using old technology, huge place but only 1 doctor.
This is my 2nd visit, the first visit I had to wait 3 hours to see the doctor, my second visit 4 hours to see him. Soooo disappointed 😞

DO NOT GO HERE! My mother and I just moved down here a few months ago. I was taking her to an ophthalmologist in New York for years where she was being treated. Once we moved down to Florida, I took her to the Healthy Vision Insitute, and she was diagnosed with 2 more conditions that she never heard of from her previous doctor. She went to 2 more appointments (all of which were over 3 hours long by the way). After her last appointment at Healthy Vision, we decided to get a second and a third opinion just to be sure. She has no signs of the conditions the owner of the practice, Dr Powers diagnosed her with. 3 different doctors have now refuted what healthy vision has being claiming what my mother has. I am very disappointed in this practice. If you value your time, and proper treatment do not go here.

Made an inquiry a couple of months ago. Now they keep calling and calling, leaving messages, hounding me to come in. I am not getting treated there! Called to have them remove number from their records and they hung up on me!

I did not see Dr. Powers, the doctor everyone raves about. Rumor in the waiting room was that he no longer actively practices.

This is a well oiled factory type approach to vision care. You will feel like a mouse in a maze, being directed to one place, back to the waiting room, to another place for several hours. No one will let you know this before you come. No one will introduce themselves by their role. They will not tell you what they are doing or what the next step is. Patients in the waiting room are left to explain to each other what they think is happening.

I needed an eye exam and the doctor told me they don't do them even though it says on their website they do diabetic eye exams and I confirmed this online. The doctor mocked my dismay and told me I could go to a same day vision place and get glasses there easily. He then lectured me on getting upset about little things. As a chronically ill person trying to fit in another eye exam around a full time job it is not a little thing and he demonstrated his insensitivity.

I was treated to a procedure without receiving information on the risks and benefits. He just did it. I asked halfway through and was told what he was doing. And then after he left the room someone else put a form in front of me to sign. I asked what it was and was told it was for the procedure. It stated that I had received information and agreed to the procedure. I had to go home and research the procedure myself.

The doctor told me that my cataracts were not ready to be removed. I had to tell him they were removed years ago.

The doctor told me he doesn't do eyelid work. This was the reason I came here in the first place and again had told them on the phone was the reason I was coming.

I guess they were able to bill Medicare for enough to make them happy.

As I left the building I was dismayed to see that my doctor was the medical director!!

I understand that Dr. Powers is retired. There are glowing reviews of him here. Hopefully he will address what is happening now.

If you ever need medical records transfered to anywhere else don't let them do it. Do it yourself because they'll never bother to send them over. I had to go into the office to get them myself because after three weeks of being asked to transfer them they never bothered to do it.
