Quality of care sucks. We never see nurses come check on my mother-in-law. Her room was dirty the entire time since she got admitted. Housekeeper was cleaning the empty bedside since the other patient was discharged. I asked if she could please clean my loved ones' side. Which she did. We were very thankful for her to help us out.
According to the staff (nurses/housekeeping), they must have an order for the rooms to be cleaned on a daily basis. I would have figured it's a hospital with a lot of sickness and germs. Why in the world must you need an order for clean up!!!
Nurses don't even try to help patients to eat without an order as well. Nursing staff didn't even try giving the patient the food on her table. When I got there, I overheard the nurses yell "no just take the food!, she's not even going to eat!!!"
That pissed me off!!!

*No compassion - No Humanity - No Care*

To the workers there, it's just a job, not a career. Shame on them.

If i could give 0 Stars i would!!! , they have people waiting in the E.R for hours i was there for 8+ hrs basicly their whole shift! Thats ridiculous!! The Board should really look into this ! Is called emergency for a reason! and all they do is take your vitals , all they care about is taking peoples money they need to change their staff for some more efficient this is one of the worst hospitals around very disappointed, people could literally die while waiting in the er ridiculous amount of hours , they need to do their job and work harder and faster!.

They have helped me here so
far , Thankful for the staff.
We have to keep in mind it is not an easy job for them.
Although, usually here back and forth in waiting rooms until you see a doctors. I saw a doctor at about 8hrs. You are with the Rns before you see a doctor ;
I was told I should be about to be seen, but it was a huge delay.
It is frustrating because why are you telling me I am about to be seen when I am not;

So now after waiting 6hrs, an additional 3 hours from 2 different time frames, I am still waiting.
Throughout, the RNs are kind and try to do what they can. Doctor was apologetic about the wait then after an hour or so if you are ok , you can be discharged. Just expect to wait longer than expected. Can be cleaned a bit more. Seating can get crowded and is sectioned off (regular / pediatric )so security will complain before actually telling you why.
Bring something to keep warm, get a charger or book so you can pass time.

I am going to write many things I experienced in here.
good and also bad
also some improvements I want to request to the facilities.

so my review will give you some ideas..

if you are going to ER, be aware!
the amount you have to wait..
overflowing people.. not easy to get checked in even you are sick.
if you need wheelchair.. it is a bit of a hassle.
pretty long distance from parking to the entrance..

I truly request some improvement of the entrance areas.

parking is pretty hard to find.. so be aware this one too.

Entrance area, there are many sercurity people and some people are super nice but some are not..
sometimes I wanted to tell the staff,
" if you are working for UCLA, have better attitude, because you represent UCLA"

so if you are thinking going to ER. ,
just be aware what I said in here..
there are many interesting people in the waiting room too.

BUT,, they have the best DRS AND NURSES..
so if you can wait for those long waiting hours. .
you get the best treatment.

Luckily my husband was sent to ER by ambulance,
even I took him several times. his cases was always severe so he never waited in those long lines.

UCLA Emergency rooms were super nice and
everyone is very professionals, once you are checked in..
you are in the best place to be treated..

my husband also experienced in many different rooms,
6th floor ICU, 5th floor and 3rd floor for total about a month in October.

now he is back again at 4th ICU, 3rd ICU and now regular room.

so far my favorite was 4th ICU teams. they were extremely caring and they were just wonderful.

over all experience, UCLA is the best.
they have the best DRs and Nurses and they have the world class treatment.

we are so lucky to get thier help.
it is not a easy industry to work..

when we deal with UCLA Staff,
some staff are extremely kind compassionate and just amazing.. they are there for every step of the way

but we cannot expect too much from everyone..
it is not UCLA, it is quality, personality of the drs and nurses.

we many become very demanding but I want you to see from a different point of view too,
it is one of the most stressful work place.
so. we cannot get everything what we want right away
but you can always ask..
some will do it some will not..

but you can always ask to all the nurses.
but if you want to get better treatment, bring some snacks like donuts to the staff, they will be nicer to you. hahaha..

but anyway, I trust all the Drs there..

thanks.. hope my review helped you.

We took my nephew on Friday with abdominal pain, and he didn't have surgery until Monday. I would call the nurses to get updates on his progress and never had any issues. I called today and was transferred to his nurse. I asked for an update, and she responded, "All I can say is that he's ok." I have been going and calling since Friday. I called to check on my nephew, and my sister inlaw informed me that his room was full of nurses because they had given him a shit of Morphine for the pain. Guess what? He's allergic to Morphine and the nurse didn't see the alert on his record and gave it to him. All I can say is, what if this was their family member? How about "treating others how you want to be treated?"

I give it 2 .5 because there’s a good nurses, but there’s also ones that shouldn’t be there , watch out for Daniel I had him in floor 6 , he is jumpy nervous and short tempered ? he’s not sure what he’s doing, makes “mistakes” I slept with one eye open. . Then there’s Jessica nice but wasn’t around ever !! she’s in floor 4 , I did meet 2 really great nurses , also Dr Ammed and his team checked on me everyday 🙂 , I was there for 5 days , the surgery team is great but had me waiting on them for an entire day fasting missed dinner , I had my surgery done next morning , I hope it helps ,now you know what to expect … one last thing they poked me 3xs a day for blood work .

This place is a joke. No organization or communication about your care between specialist. 2-4 months wait for necessary and emergency procedures. And don't even get me started on pain medications. I had a severe car accident 8 years ago and need epidural injections in my spine every 90 days/4xs a year and since I've been assigned here I'm lucky to get 1- 2 in the same year and my pain medication has been toyed with down to less than half and never get my refills on time and I mean never in the 4 years I've been going there. I would highly recommend do not choose harbor UCLA services
