I've been with the company over a year now and can honestly say that I love doing what I do each day and the people that I work alongside with make it more enjoyable, with plenty of potential for growth. My team and I, in Alabama, have been part of the Handtevy family for for almost 5 years now. We have embraced the mission (CLOSURE) and have taught hundreds of EMSP's. We have heard of many stories from the field on how calls are running smoother and that the field EMSP has more confidence after the course. We know that we may not save every patient using the concepts and tools provided in the Handtevy Class, but we believe that we are saving every EMSP that comes to our class and walks away with a whole new outlook on patient care.

Great organization pushing the boundary on medical treatment for pediatrics, and all ages in the prehospital and in hospital sectors. Everyone knows and loves the Handtevy App, but the solution for better patient care and mental safety of our crews/staff lies in changing the way we think in high stress events. Using the Handtevy system I have seen an improvement in not only our pediatric medical response, but adult response as well. The system, and primarily the Handtevy App has streamlined information and critical processes making life saving treatment more concise, pertinent to our departments systems of care, and faster to treatment. The easiest way to put it is Best Practices.

-However, I'm updating my review in 2024 with reservations. The portion of the Handtevy system that our department was using was limited by our needs. We used the app for cardiac arrest response and pediatric medical response. We do not EVER reference protocols while on scene. Scene time is focused on patient care. If we are in need of further guidance, we contact on-line medical control directly for specific orders not included in, or needing clarification related to a unique on-scene need. Broselow Tapes were delivered to replace the Handtevy system and length based tapes because we have discontinued using Handtevy when the annual subscription cost increased to 7 times the initial price. I understand that Handtevy changed their app, added their own programmers, and increased the capability of the app to include Protocols etc., but that cost doesn't fit our budget as a municipal department, nor should it. This move by Handtevy changed a valuable tool to something with value that we will not be using. Yes, still functional. Still has the ability to reduce the number of pediatric medication errors. Not financially feasible to implement in our system. Two stars isn't for the quality. That remains a 5 star. Two stars refers only to the price.

The HandTevy system has been in place since 2017 at the Kirkwood Fire Department and it is a true game changer. Critical pediatric patients are low frequency, high risk calls. Medics are required to perform complicated drug calculations at the drop of a tone and this system removes ALL stressors for these instances. The agency specific protocol driven dosages and equipment information are at the medics fingertips. No longer are they stressed on the way to a critical pediatric call, instead they are talking treatment plans and procedure assignments to more efficiently treat the patient. We are staying on scene longer and caring for the patient and the patients family at the same time. The system creates a calmer more organized response and treatment plan, it truly makes a difference. The most eye opening statement I have heard was from a 25 year Engineer, assigned to a fire apparatus only, “I wish we had this system years ago, the fear I had to treat pediatric patients was gone even before my HandTevy provider course was even complete”. This is a huge, in your face statement that the system truly works!!!! Thank you Dr. Antevy and your team for all your hard work and dedication to a system that simply makes a difference.
