We were happy initially with hospice at home. However our nurse went on vacation and a part time nurse Vicki stepped in. She insisted on putting my mom in the Rucki facility. Prior to this my mom was standing with aid of walker, sharp in the mind and happy at home.
The first night mom was there I received a call that she fell backwards and hit back of her head which resulted in a lump. She is speaking jibberish and unable to stand. Rene the administrator is not admitting they dropped the ball and my mom. Now she needs 24 hour care as a result of there mistake.

My wife had services at home until she died on October 12. The regular nurse was very good. All that changed on the last day my wife was alive.
At the end the nurse that was here with both of us lacked in compassion and did a number of things that not acceptable in hospice care.
First off she said inappropriate things my wife could hear. For instance " I don't t think she's going to last an hour."
After she died she did what the nurse has to do. She was however rough,crass,and was just awful.
I complained but it obviously did no good. This nurse also failed to properly document the drugs she administered. She did not include one from the emergency kit which was Haldol.of corse she denied it and she was believed. I know what I observed.
The long and the short is...be cautious who you allow in your home during hospices tenure there. If something seems off call and tell any hospice to send someone else to administer
Care.
Would my wife have lived longer ? Probably not. The final moments and after should have been much better.
If Gulfside doesn't like this review I really don't care. They have had three months to address this issue and all they have done is make excuses.
Go hire some better nurses. I personally would not recommend this short sighted organization at all.
You want to do something then di it right or dont do it at all.

If I could give NO STARS, I would. This group, at least the home health staff, totally sucks. They watched my mother vomit blood and said she doesn’t meet the criteria to move her into a facility. They didn’t monitor her drugs correctly, sent the wrong supplies and didn’t show up when they said they would. I would run to any other hospice group - these people are the absolute worst. And then they send you fundraising request. I would be banned from the internet if I wrote how I truly feel about this group.

I always receive immediate responses from the Pallative Care Tram. The nurse practitioner has been working very closely with me. She has attempted several Rx. to attempt controlling my pain. Kudos to all the Pallative team.

I recently lost my best friend of 33 years. I can't tell you how wonderful all the Gulfside Hospice staff were to help me get through this. They were always pleasant, cooperated with our wishes, but also provided excellent, professional care. I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing hospice care. And don't wait until the last minute to get hospice! Get established as early as possible to get the support and relationships established that you need. Even having been a hospice nurse myself, I NEEDED them. Thank you Gulfside!

Very professional and thorough. For the in-person visits which are infrequent just a few times a year it is always been a pleasant experience. I have helped me through some difficult times getting pharmacies to comply with certain things. I would highly recommend using this service.

The doctors and the nurses here saved my life it is such a kind clinic patient care is available 24 hours a day the doctors actually take however long it takes to review your medical history with you and come up with solutions to all your problems, they offer so many services it’s worth every bit

Sad to say the worst Staff ever.. however PATRICK That prays for you and your family was the most kind and caring person in the whole place THE REST WERE RUDE AND NASTY.. MY DAD WAS WITH THEM FOR ONLY 24HRS IF THAT AT OUR HOUSE..THEY WERE ALWAYS HOUNDING US TO USE THEM LIKE IT WAS DEATH SENTENCE WHICH IT WAS.
Please keep your love one's with you not in there place they need more caring and compassion people there. Not just a pay check or to write them off.
