I’m extremely disappointed with this groomer. I brought my dog in for a trim, only to find out she had been completely shaved without my consent. The groomer claimed she was “a little matted”, but that’s simply not true—she’s brushed regularly and her coat was in good condition. Even though her coat may not have been perfect, it didn’t warrant a shave. On top of that, I never received a call/text when she was ready, so she was left waiting far too long. This experience was upsetting for both me and my dog. I will not be returning and would not recommend this place. It has really gone downhill since the ownership changed in the fall.

I took my pup for a grooming at Grateful dogs and I'm not taking her to any other groomer. The gave her a spa day and groomed her as needed. Timing for grooming was exactly as they told me. They took excellent care of my Lu. The grooming area is clean and the groomers take their time with each dog. Lu was a happy girl.

This was our puppy’s first time going to the groomers and we are so happy that we went to Grateful Dogs Grooming. Their staff were very friendly and welcoming. But the work done on our puppy was amazing! Fantastic work at a reasonable price. We will definitely be coming back! A before and after photo

I recently moved to Wayne and tried 2 other places before landing on Grateful Dogs. Teddy is a big Goldendoodle with mostly wavy/curly hair. For some reason this was an issue for one of the OTHER groomers I contacted in Wayne (not grateful dogs) telling me they charge extra (so much more $ than G.D.) for goldendoodles and also need appts weeks in advance due to size, time, matting, etc. I brush my dog regularly and in my old town my groomer referred to my dog as a STATUE because he was so still and calm. Grateful dogs was so easy to make an appt and they gave me one that same week. I asked how much and was very pleasantly surprised. I brought my baby in and they were so welcoming, and when asked how I wanted his haircut they presented me with this little "chart" with what looked like pieces of diff shag rug length to pick which length you'd like for your dog's body. I LOVED THAT. They got him done in a timely manner and when I wasn't prepared and would be another 30min they were great about it, thankfully, because I was mortified. When he was all done, he was placed in a tiny little "fenced" area (literal white picket fence lol) where he could be away from the dogs, and see/hear my car, and me coming, and not be locked in a cage. I really liked that idea. It gives them a minute to decompress and get away from whatever stress they may have had during the groom. One time during pick up, I was told all about their doggy daycare when I asked about the big TV with what was obviously a camera watching a few dogs walking and playing, loose and off leash. And then got caught up in an hour long conversation with a trainer that works there. It was an overall, pleasant experience for not just me but my dog. The actual haircut is maybe an 8 or 9 out of ten. Not the best I've ever seen but everything else is 12 out of 10 so the haircut doesn't matter as much to me. Try it out. They also have treats and stickers up front! I love how he comes home with a cute little bandana, always with a cute print to go with the month. If I can rate Grateful Dogs higher than 5 stars I would! My husband and I had an amazing experience. We traveled up to New Jersey for the day and prior to travel I spoke with Alex, the owner, and explained how our 4month puppy hasn’t been around a lot of dogs and she’s shy at first. After my conversation with Alex I felt so comfortable with our decision to leave Luna in their care for the day and from someone who hasn’t left her with anyone before and is very picky with her care, this says a lot. Upon arrival Amanda was there to take her and Meghan arrived shortly after. They were both so pleasant and friendly. Luna went to Amanda with no problem and we immediately felt at ease to depart and leave her in their hands. When I called for the wellness check they informed me that she has been doing amazing and actually interacted with the other dogs! To our surprise, when we picked Luna up she didn’t come running to us to leave. She had such a good time she was sniffing around looking for more fun instead of greeting us. We were so happy she enjoyed herself. They trimmed her nails and groomed up her face around her hair and we are so grateful! She even smelt better and had a cute little pink bow in her hair! Our trip to Jersey was bittersweet being that we were there for a funeral service but we are forever thankful to Grateful Dogs in Wayne, NJ for going above and beyond and not only putting a smile on our puppy’s face but on ours as well. If you are in the area or just traveling in New Jersey with your fur baby, Grateful Dogs in Wayne, NJ is the best place you can leave your dog. Their love for animals goes above and beyond and their kindness is unmatched.

After a difficult experience, Alex and Kylie reached out to me directly to gain understanding to what happened. They generally care about my dog and other concerns that we had. They were able to take care of my dog, who struggles with grooming, with patience and kindness. They made the whole experience better than the last and our dogs grooming was perfect. We can’t wait to go back!
