My great aunt required long-term care, and finding Glen Haven was a blessing. From the moment we stepped through the doors, the warmth and compassion of the staff enveloped us. They go above and beyond to ensure every resident feels valued and cherished.

The facility itself is impeccably maintained, offering a comfortable and homely atmosphere. I can't recommend Glen Haven enough for anyone seeking a nurturing and supportive environment for their loved ones during their golden years. I feel peace in my heart that she is so well taken care of.

I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the staff of Glen Haven Health and Rehab during my time as a CTC for a local home health and hospice company in Tuscaloosa. I have had the pleasure of getting to connect with many of the key staff members, as well as the residents through business marketing activities. The staff go above and beyond to make sure that the needs of their residents are met and are always so friendly and welcoming. It is a pleasure getting to visit Glen Haven every week and I would highly recommend for anyone needing to place a family member in short term rehab or long term placement.

I have had a family member at Glen Haven for rehab and the staff were kind and courteous and the therapy department was as wonderful. The admissions coordinator made the admission and transition process better than we anticipated. B Snider

Part 1 See second post ran out of room. Part two is under Sonya Moore. It wouldn’t let me do two post.

Unfortunately, I would like to give this post zero stars. My father was moved here around 27 Oct 2023, from DCH rehab. He was in a car accident and this is why he was in Tuscaloosa, he had traumatic brain injury, Was unable to feed himself himself or do anything and his memory was pretty much gone. My goal was to try to get him to DC where I lived, but due to the brain bleeding he had to stay out there we tried everything to get him into a different facility and unfortunately, no one would take him, but Glenhaven. I had read a few reviews and then had a family member go check it out. They were given a tour by Laura, but don’t fall for that trap, This place is horrible. I had tried a few times to see if we could get him in the Tuscaloosa VA, but for some reason they couldn’t find him in the system. I flew out there to see him and he was on a different floor and before they move him, they are supposed to notify you, I also noticed all of the clothing that I had bought him was missing. I had bought him some T-shirts, socks, Underwear, and pajama pants and a new duffel bag. Since he was bedridden, He had to stay in his gown, when I asked them what happened to his clothing, They said oh they might have been washed and I was like why they were brand new already washed and folded in his bag. I was told I could get a refund if I could find a receipt, but I had bought the clothing months ago prior to him coming there and one of the physical therapist did tell me she did see pajama pants in his duffel bag at one point, But those were missing as well, so somebody stole all of his new clothing. Prior to leaving I went and talked to the Manager/director. Once you enter the facility and walk straight and make a left, she has the large office. Her name might be Laura as well, the regional Director was in there. he asked if he could help, and I just asked if they could notify me when my father is moved and what their procedures are for that and he took offense quickly and then went to get her. My son
and I were sitting in her office when she walked in and she walked right past us and didn’t acknowledge us,I was like hello and she’s like oh yes…smh. Very unprofessional and she was the high and mighty type. She thought we were beneath her for whatever reason. I stated my concerns And all she had to say was OK in future yes, we will let you know, she had an attitude as well. I never understand people in positions like this, that lack empathy, she’s definitely there for the money. If you have any issues at that facility, she’s not going to care. I went to see my dad around Thanksgiving, and I noticed he wasn’t eating as much, They were supposed to be feeding him, but they would just leave the food knowing he couldn’t feed himself and I noticed he was losing more weight. A few weeks after Thanksgiving I get a call and they’re telling me To start looking at hospice and I knew it was coming and I asked was he eating any and they would always say no matter what when I called he was doing fine and he was eating a little. Hospice only pays for their care not for Room/ board so they were telling me that I should fill out a Medicaid form, but instead I called the VA one more time, and I found an angel that worked there, She really did some research and was able to get my dad over to the Tuscaloosa VA Her name was Renee. There was also a doctor at the VA who requested my father‘s records Dr. Fulghum, She called me and told me that it was pretty serious and acute that she didn’t think he would make it to the end of December And that they were going to get him moved to the VA. Once he was moved to the VA, of course, his duffel bag didn’t come with him or any of the family pictures that I had brought. I guess since the Glen Haven staff had stolen the clothes, they decided to keep the bag as well.

Part 2 ?This post is a continuation, look for TeeDC post. Had to post under another name to put two reviews.

Now that he was at the VA, the doctor there called me and said I need to let family know that they need to come see him soon, and they actually let me FaceTime and see my father and I really just broke down, he was skin and bones!!! Glenhaven never told me anything. I had just saw him about three weeks ago around Thanksgiving, so I’m going to assume he had stopped eating for a good three weeks and these idiots never said a thing they just said look at hospice. It was so heartbreaking to know they just decided to let him die, I was so thankful for the VA for informing me of my dad‘s real status. they made sure he was so comfortable, always had someone sitting with him, and when I got out there, I’m so thankful I was able to be there with him before he took his last breath, and that would not have happened at Glenhaven, they lied, and they just left him to die!!!!Please do not Send your family member here unless you can be there every day to check on them!
