I am so grateful for Katrina with Gea Midwifery. Really early in my pregnancy, before I had established services for any prenatal support, I experienced some extremely painful, concerning issues. I was given a referral to Gea Midwifery and after just a quick message Katrina quickly got in touch with me and provided exceptional support. She is professional, caring, empathetic, and very well informed. Katrina is a great listener/communicator with an abundance of knowledge and a heart centered spirit.
She referred me to another highly professional provider for an ultrasound to check in case of an ectopic pregnancy.
Katrina and her professional network quelled my families fears, kept my baby and I safe, and supported me as I transitioned out of that concerning state, all while providing clear, educated, professional, genuine care.
Thank you Katrina!
Many blessings to you, your wonderful midwifery business, and to your family.

My daughter just gave birth with help from Katrina and we were really happy with the quality of care. At first, I didn't understand why she wanted a doula AND a midwife but after seeing them in action, I can definitely see how each one compliments the other. My daughter and i were both nervous about birth since this was her first child but Katrina was very professional and made everything much easier and was a fierce advocate who made sure her birth plan was followed as much as possible. It was very important to me that she have a good experience so that she wasn't traumatized and was comfortable trying again for a second baby. And my daughter tells me she still wants 2 or 3! I'm so happy to have my first grand baby, thanks so much Katrina! I can't wait to do this again with your help!

Katrina is wonderful! My husband and I took a private childbirth education class from her toward the end of my pregnancy in 2020 and it was fantastic. The course took place in our home, with just us and Katrina, so it was very relaxed and comfortable. I sent her a long list of questions in advance, and she took the time to go over every single one! This was in addition to all the excellent material included in her class.

Katrina brings lots of great props, tools, and graphics to help describe the labor and birth process. We also covered home birth preparation and setup, breastfeeding, safe sleeping, newborn care, emotional questions, postpartum care, how to best handle the first visitors after birth, and other baby-related questions.

I HIGHLY recommend taking a course from Katrina! She is intelligent, knowledgeable, kind, funny, and truly a joy to be around. After her class, I felt very empowered and excited for the experience of labor and birth! What I learned in her class helped me have an unmedicated home birth during which I felt strong and empowered. I know Katrina will be an excellent labor companion and positive presence at any birth she attends 🙂

I could not be happier, the care is excellent! Wish i could give her 10 stars! We are so lucky to have her here in SLO county.

I transferred care from a (highly rated award winning) local obgyn because i couldn't get my questions answered and i wish i had done it sooner. Katrina takes the time to listen to my concerns and preferences and help me make decisions that are right for my family. It often takes me double the time to question, research and decide as the average person and Katrina never rushed me or made me feel stupid for asking, which was essential as a first time mom.

I'm the kind of person who looks up everything and compares practices to the UK, Australia, Canada, and Scandinavian countries, (where birth outcomes are much better than here in the USA.) I was pleasantly surprised to find that her practices lined up very well with the most recent advances and best practices in these countries and every time i looked up more information online, it lined up with what she suggested.

I was determined to avoid a c section and Katrina helped me every step along that path. Midwifery care has much lower rates of c section and I can see why, as Katrina knew lots of tricks to get my body to birth the baby as naturally as possible.

Things didn't go according to plan and Katrina was supportive every step of the way as I transferred to Sierra Vista, got an epidural, and birthed my baby with additional (medical) support.

I will be calling Katrina first next time I'm pregnant. No need to waste my time with inferior options. I had a positive experience that left me empowered and unafraid to grow my family again. I would recommend her to anyone.

I don’t even know where to begin because the level of care exceeded all of my expectations. We transferred care halfway through pregnancy to midwife, Katrina Bolduc after feeling called to experience birth differently than my last two pregnancies. Before we made it official with her she was open to all our questions & concerns. Katrina always made sure that I was informed and educated me in more areas than one. I gravitated towards her nurturing ways, widespread knowledge/education and the control she encouraged me to take in all aspects of pregnancy & birth. My family felt cared for by her, the kids & my husband were brought in closely through it all! Choosing Gea Midwifery was the best decision for our entire family. Each visit was special leading up to the birth. The birth experience was exactly what it needed to be because she empowered me and provided a safe place to follow my bodies lead. She believed in me and encouraged me when I felt like I couldn’t go on. Katrina & my husband kept me fed and hydrated through the long day of labor and I felt carried through one of the most intense, transformative times of my life. I felt like she knew exactly what we needed but always gave us options and provided reasoning. I felt like she knew my heart & desires for birth so when my vision became blurry through contractions she held the vision for me all the way up to pushing our sweet Dani Grace out into the world. I’m forever grateful for Katrina Bolduc and have a new perspective on midwifery care as well as home births.
With a grateful heart,

Having a home birth with Katrina Bolduc of GEA midwifery was truly a joy & wonderful experience. Going into the decision to have a home birth , my wife was 5 months preg & already established with a OB. The switch came with a lot of fears for me, and I personally had zero idea of how to have a picture of what a home birth would be. My Wife’s safety was number one concern with babies concern being 1-B. Very quickly after meeting with Katrina she began to educate me on the home birth process, which put my fears at easy. She gave me an idea of what an emergency/worst case scenario plan would look like(thank God birth, my wife and my daughter all went/are well).
What I didn’t see coming was the love & care she poured into our family. Instantly my wife & Katrina clicked! She’s a part of the family and now Tia Katrina! Seeing the care she has for my wife & daughter has been a very special thing that I’m grateful that I got to see, and believe that all expecting mothers should have.

Katrina was the best choice to help with our birth center birth! As a first time mom, we were going into this with only what you can get from books or poor advice from friends, and even strangers, and Katrina helped clear up so much! She taught us valuable information you’d normally have to get at a birth class and provided us with all the tools to make our labor that much easier. I had back labor for 40 hours before our little boy came into the world and yet I look back so fondly and was so calm throughout the process and have Katrina to thank for a lot of that! If you’re looking for a doula or are on the fence about one, do it! She helped my husband just as much as she helped me and we both agree that a doula is necessary for the best birth experience possible and for the help and reassurance after your baby comes!
