We saw Dr. Veerappa and he is the kindest most empathetic doctor. My daughter was having a mental health issue and he spent over 30 minutes with us trying to help her. I know this put him way behind in his schedule. He is so knowledgeable and understanding. I don’t know what we would have done if we hadn’t found him. He has high morals and ethics. We see a lot of doctors at UCSF for our health needs and I put him up there with the quality of doctors At UCSF. We are lucky he is in Modesto.

Things have IMPROVED! Rating moved from 3 to 5. They have put some digital measures in place and times have sped up. I still recommend trying to schedule an appointment as early as possible to avoid longer wait times. I always pick their earliest appointment. Dr. McLawrence is 10/10 — she listens intently & genuinely cares.

The wait times are insane. I’ve been coming to this doctors office since I was born in 1983! Now I bring my kids here. Every single time we come for an appointment the wait is 1-2 hours! RIDICULOUS! Doctors are amazing (Dr. McLawrence is amazing) but front staff is rude, inpatient, and short tempered. If you call in, it’s not much better. Most wait times to get someone on the phone is 20 minutes of holding. I’ll change my one star rating when the office staff and scheduling gets it together. No one wants to wait with a six year old for two hours while they have anxiety about their shots. Get it together Family Health Care! You’ve been in this game FAR TOO LONG to be running your practice like it’s a start-up

I have dealt with this medical group for at least 5 years with my sister as her care giver and for myself the last year with Dr. Blu. I've also seen Dr. Brockman and Dr. Schiovitz and Dr. Collins. I have been with other medical groups and I just want to say, Family Healthcare Group is wonderful for several reasons. Yes the wait times for calling in might be a little long during peak business hours, but all groups are impacted in this way. We live in a county that does not have enough providers for the population they serve. This group has improved their systems and do much better since. They recently went to EMHR (electronic Health Records} which is not easy to transition but nw is making everything run much smoother. I feel the doctors listen well, are compassionate and try to make you feel comfortable with the homey setting. I also appreciate the way they handle referrals. Referrals at this office are handled in a timely manner on their end. If the doctor you are referred to is booked out a long while then the wait is unavoidable sometimes, and they can try to find a different specialist. All in all I am very happy with this office, and Dr. Blu and Dr. Shiovitz as our primary care providers. I love their homey office and the staff are considerate even when busy. They all work very hard to meet the needs of their clients.

Updated review: Front desk staff has changed and this place has improved for the better. The doctors are incredible and the front desk new staff/new attitudes are absolutely refreshing!

Dr. Blu (incredible!) and Dr. McLawrence are two great doctors here. However, very important to note is the front desk staff provide an awful representation of this facility. They are incredibly rude, condescending, unhelpful, and uninviting. It’s a shame to have people like them be the first point-of-contact at a Doctor’s office. Leaves a bad taste in your mouth regardless of how good the doctor’s are. So many others feel the same way about this facility (see reviews) and it is sad that things have not changed.

I would give the 4-5 stars but the office staff always seems stressed out and the wait times are always extremely long. The Doctors are good at this practice but the office staff can come off as rude. It is apparent they are under staffed and need more help. I do like that I can get an appointment quickly however the wait time can be extensive. I've waited 2 hours before. It's nice that they try to get a patience in, but that creates problems with the schedules. Once I'm in to see my Dr. he takes his time and doesn't rush. I have confidence in the doctors there. We have had problems with them and paper work...again the office is understaffed. They need more help.

Horrible customer service! The people at the front desk are always rude and even when you’re on time for an appointment, you wouldn’t be seen for over 30 minutes after the fact.

Just recently, I showed up for an appointment and explained that I had a medical condition and could not wear a mask, as protected per California law. I asked for a face shield and she was real snappy, saying we don’t have one. She was unwilling to accommodate me and began raising her voice, in which I had to talk over her and ask for a supervisor to make a complaint. They also messed up my appointment date and were reluctant to fix that too.

I showed her the the state government website, citing the need for an accommodation, and she rolled her eyes and gave me the hand. Who the hell treats a patient like that?

After I made my formal complaint, they say they can’t see me anymore! Well, you can expect a complaint to the medical review board of California is coming soon.
