One of the Best decisions I made for my health was to become a patient at ExcelLife Integrated Care.
For many years my thyroid condition had not been adequately controlled via the conventional medicine approach with my previous PCP. I knew something had to change. My weight was at an all-time high, nothing seemed to work. I was tired and concerned that it was only going to get worse unless I made some changes and started attacking the root-cause of my health issues. To do this, I knew I needed a different kind of doctor, one who took a functional medicine approach. And I needed a doctor who listened and discussed my concerns and questions, instead of dismissing them.
My first intro to the practice was a consultation phone call with Ariel. His friendly manner and confidence in the practice made me feel at ease and I scheduled an appointment with the doctor. From the beginning of my visit with Dr. Maite Diaz, I knew I had found the right doctor! She spent the time getting to know me and to understand what my health concerns were. I signed up for one of the wellness programs. Comprehensive bloodwork was one of the first steps, this is a foundational step that I think is lacking in conventional medicine due to the constraints of medical insurance. Because of the extensive bloodwork, a previously undiagnosed health condition was discovered. I finally felt that I had an answer as to why my thyroid was not stabilized, why I was feeling tired, and why my weight wouldn’t budge! Following her recommendations for supplementation and dietary changes, I started to see positive changes within the first month. Here I am, a little more than a year later, 75 pounds lighter! I have more energy; I feel better than I’ve felt in the past 10 years! After my wellness program concluded, I continued with maintenance plan with the practice.

My wife referred me to Dr. Maite Diaz, DNP, FNP-BC, a Functional Medicine Doctor at ExcelLife Intergrative Care located in New Port Richey, Florida. She is also a patient. For me personally, I needed a holistic approach to healthcare, something western medicine docs tied to closely to big pharma do not offer anymore. I was grossly overweight and suspected I had other issues. After only a few weeks seeing Dr. Diaz, she was able to diagnose several serious issues, albeit totally fixable, and after only 1 month of care, more than 80% of my issues were corrected and practially reversed. Since seeing Dr. Diaz, I've lost more than 50lbs, and I feel great. If you're looking for a doctor that is doggedly determined to seek out ALL of your medical issues, she's the doctor for you. Do your research on Functional Medicine. It's amazing! The staff at ExcelLife Integrative Care is amazing. They're always on top of communicating with you, e.g., appointment reminders, or just to see how you're doing. I don't have medical insurance, so as a cash pay patient, I'm glad Dr. Diaz works to make her care as affordable as possible. We love Dr. Diaz and her care! Best doc I've ever had.

From the moment I met Dr. Diaz, I felt safe and optimistic that she was the answer I was looking for. She has a great bed-side manner and listens closely to your concerns. She performed more tests on me than I thought possible. She checked for anything and everything to be able to rule out or diagnose what was affecting me and making me feel so sick. It did not happen overnight but I am feeling so much better. I am no longer afraid of waking up in the morning. There were weeks when I stayed in bed because I felt so sick. In the past few weeks I have gone shopping, visit someone in the hospital, a wake and funeral, family get-together, service work for church, and I was finally able to go back to church in person instead of watching on-line. Dr. Diaz even consulted with her team of doctors to discuss my case and together they came up with a remedy that really seems to be helping greatly. Also, my A1C has lowered, my Hemoglobin is reaching normal numbers and I no longer have high blood pressure. I was on HBP meds since the age of 33, I am now 63. I also want to acknowledge her office staff, Ariel, Nutritional Coach and Julivette, receptionist. They always welcome me with a smile and optimism. I just love Dr. Maite Diaz and Ariel! For some time, I had been suffering from debilitating fatigue, weakness, brain fog, heart palps, anxiety, etc due to hormonal imbalances associated with menopause and high nighttime cortisol. My primary care physician was unable to help me and I was fearful of using synthetic hormones that are typically prescribed by a gynecologist. In August 2023, I came across the Hormone Connection, which is now called “ExcelLife Integrative Care,” and it has been an answer to my prayers. Dr. Maite Diaz is a nurse practitioner who has been educated in functional medicine. As such, she is able to get to the root cause of symptoms by testing for deficiencies and toxicities within the body and then providing supplements and bioidentical hormones (and even medication if necessary) to naturally bring the body into balance. Something traditional doctors are not trained in. Within just a few weeks of treatment, I started to notice a positive change in my condition. It’s been just over three months now and I must say that my brain fog has lifted, my heart palps are gone, my thyroid/adrenal functioning has improved, my sleep has improved, my anxiety has decreased, and my energy has substantially improved. This is the best experience I've had at a doctor's office ever! The doctor and the entire staff are outstanding. Everyone is so kind and caring and upbeat. The doctor listens to your concerns and provides a treatment plan tailored for you and explains everything so you understand. It's been about a month now and this natural treatment is working so well.
