I have been in the emergency room first time 2022, and now 2024 December. I cannot say nothing but good things about this hospital. The staff was extremely courteous and professional. The doctor that examined for blood clot in the leg was awesome in his prognosis right on the money. When I found out I had no blood clots the doctor that examined me and ordered the tests had happy face congratulating me I was going to be OK, and no blood clots after extensive testing. Like any emergency room it can get crowded but considering it was I checked in at 10;30 AM and went home after all the testing was done including blood work at 2;00 PM It was worth it. I normally go to Cedar Sinai which is the 3rd best hospital in the US. I consider the staff at Emanate Health Foothill Presbyterian Hospital right along with Cedars emergency room. Yes, I recommend this local hospital very much.

My dad was left waiting for admittance for 8 hours. He had a CT, EKG, and MRI and was finally admitted to the ER after MRI. They left him sleeping on a gurney in the ER for two nights. The transfer to a larger hospital took 3 nights/4 days. He was never moved to a room at their hospital while he waited, although I appreciate they put him in a private area of the ER for night 3, it was still super loud. I liked the nursing staff but wouldn’t recommend this location due to the excessive waiting and communication
inconsistencies.

I was admitted to this "Hospital" that seems more like a Circus. I needed an IV and they didn't have any, I needed pain medicine and they didn't have any... the nurses go from one place to another not knowing what to do and all day long they are extremely noisy at night and early in the morning. This place seems like a nightclub with all the laughter, loud conversations between nurses and the perfumes the workers use. There is no peace for the patients and you can be convulsing with pain and if the nurses are not in the mood to help you they act like they don't care. The phone operators answer as if you were forced to be there... Out of 20 nurses, 4 were kind, the rest are very insensitive, this does not seem like a hospital, it seems anything but a place to heal. This hospital is HORRIBLE, the rooms are extremely small, there is no space to easily move a wheelchair... If you can avoid that place, avoid it because it really is a very uncomfortable experience.... If it were possible, I would give LESS than Zero stars to the receptionists, nurses and general staff of this place who feel that they are God in all their powers... I hope that Karma gives them a lesson in Humility and Empathy.

I don't like talking bad about Ears and hospitals, the nurses were very nice, the one DR I spoke was nice and concerned, with that being said I was here at 12:20 in the afternoon, was told around 1:30 that she wanted to admit me for my heart condition and monitor me. I ended up walking out at 8:30pm due to the fact I was still in the waiting area and was told it would be at least a couple more hours. Yea, NO!! That is not acceptable. I'm sorry. I had to leave. The fact I saw people being taken away in ambulances was worrisome to me. Should I need a emergency visit, or picked up in a ambulance, I will die before I come back to this hospital. Idk what the issue is but it really needs to be addressed. I was not the only one who walked out either. I feel bad for the nurses. But, thats on the medical director to sort out.

Took my husband there due to his blood pressure went below 100 unusual, it’s midnight and staffs are efficient. They asked situation and checked my husband blood pressure found raised back some. Quickly the doctor came and talked to my husband for details and gave solutions and one medication. My husband felt much better after seeing the ER doctor. The experience is easy and good. The treatment is right away, no delay. The doctor and nurse are knowledgeable. We felt great at all.

This hospital did an excellent job taking care of my husband. The social worker, the psychiatrist, the nurses everyone there were exceptional. They really listen to my concerns and they were so helpful with everything. Thank you so much to everyone that works there. Great job everyone.

I had to take my son to the ER not long ago. He’s 3yrs old and his cold suddenly got much worse, and I could tell he had some sort of an infection.

We get there at 10:30pm. My son’s fever was 103 when I left and I had given him Tylenol. He was lethargic and tired due to the time.

We fill in paperwork and waited to be called back. An hour later a nurse calls us back to take his vitals. It’s now 11:30pm. My sons barely awake and they proceed to ask him a bunch of questions, addressing him as “papi” with each question. If my son didn’t answer right away, he would ask my son if he spoke English. I said yes every time but again if they didn’t get him to answer right away, they’d keep asking him if he spoke English, or if he spoke Spanish.

English is our only language but yes, we are brown skinned.

I thought it was weird but whatever. We go back to the waiting room to wait for the doctor. An hour later (12:30am) the doctor calls us back. Another white male addressing my son as chulo and guapo before every sentence or question. My son looks pitiful, bloodshot eyes, exhausted and sick.

The doctor begins to ask my son how schools going, how he’s feeling and what hurts one question after another. My son’s struggling to answer him and the doctor tells him “HAH you’re supposed to say I’m not in school I’m three!” And then asks if he speaks English, which my son nodded yes.

A few more questions that didn’t get answered fast enough, so he asks my son for the millionth time if he speaks Spanish, to which my son shakes his head no. And Dr says “oh but mommy does huh”. So I awkwardly say no, I do not. As we had been telling everyone since we got there.

As if things can’t get anymore uncomfortable and awkward, the doctor needed to check my sons abdomen as I mentioned he had complained about it hurting him. The doctor asked my son to get up and jump for him.

I put my son down (he was in my lap) and he immediately sways. I try to steady him and ask him to jump. He does. The doctor tells him it wasn’t big enough and he needed to jump again. My son said no. It’s now 1am and he’s exhausted. But no sympathy from this man.

I then got lectured about my supposed “gentle parenting” and told how I must struggle so much at home with such a stubborn hard headed son. He kept going on and on about how I need to put my foot down and tell him he needs to do as I say when I say it.

I’ve never been so humiliated in my life. I feel terrible that I didn’t speak up more to defend myself and my toddler. I wanted to speak up more, but it was late. My son needed antibiotics and I didn’t want to start an argument to then be asked to leave without the medicine I knew he needed. We’re new to this city, and I have never experienced something like this before.

I debated posting this, but they just called to remind me I have to pay $800 for that visit. $800 to diagnose an ear infection and upper respiratory infection, and to be treated terribly along the way.

Worse ER facility we have experienced. My wife had some pain around the abdominal area and we got there at around 12. About an hour in and they called us in and the PA did her evaluation so we explained more in depth of the pain. The PA put the orders to do urine testing, bloodwork, and CT scan. So we went back out to the waiting room. Around 2 pm she did her urine and bloodwork. Then back to the waiting room. Another two hours around 4 pm she got the CT scan done. Then results came back around pm telling some areas were good and other were inconclusive and not clear so we should do an ultrasound so we decided to wait again. It’s been a very long day but after another 3 more hours around 7pm being restless we the front desk do they know or at least have an idea how much longer but the lady was more disgruntled then how we felt and said just wait and said something like you don’t have a choice. I know it’s a busy day and everyone’s busy and everyone’s been waiting but at this point it’s been about 7 hours since we have been there. I also wonder how their system really work. It doesn’t seem that they don’t necessarily treat the patients in the order they come in. I get it, its an ER. Some patients need immediate treatments over others depending on life and death circumstances. But I believe the way this ER conduct they routines may not be ideal. It seems if you are ordered to do a list of testings, each time you wait for the next tests you get put back on the bottom of the waiting list. Anyway I convinced my wife to maybe try to wait another hour and if we don’t hear our name we will just leave, 8pm still no call so we decided to leave. I don’t know what else to say but unbelievable. Around 9:15pm we got a phone call from another PA asking if we were still at the hospital. We explained our frustration and we left since the last 4 hours waiting clueless was too much. She said we can come back and start the entire process again. !? I asked can she at least find out how many are scheduled for ultrasound so at least we can have a super rough estimate of waiting time: Didn’t seem like she was willing to provide that to us and said she would know the total number since there is another PA who has their own list. I asked if it’s possible for her to be able to get that count from the other PA. Her answer gave me the impression she wasn’t willing to do so by saying she would need to compare all the patients between them. If I had to count there might be around 35 50 people in the waiting room but half were the significants, family members, or friends who accompanied the patients. How hard was it to quickly compared and go down the list of how many will do ultrasounds. Sighs even after explaining how restless frustration she said she have no idea how long it will take. Sighs I rather drive a couple hours further else where if the experience can be better.
