Elica Health Centers - North Highlands has garnered 405 reviews on Google My Business, with an average rating of 3.7/5. This indicates a mix of positive and possibly room for improvement in the services provided. The center is described as modern, clean, and well-equipped, with professional staff, including Dr. Vinogradova who is noted for her expertise. The dental clinic, however, is often booked solid, a testament to its popularity but also reflecting a shortage of dental providers in the community. The center's staff is reported to be supportive, working to find solutions for patients in need, although patience and understanding are recommended.

For a community health center, the facility doesn't make you feel like it's one. Modern-looking, clean, with new equipment. Dr. Vinogradova is very professional and the Clinic Manager is so nice. Dental is always booked but that's just because so many patients need services but not many providers are available in the community. If you have an immediate need (not urgent and not an emergency), the agents on their lines will work to find a solution, you just have to be patient and hear all of the options they offer.

Not recommending this clinic.
We were 5 minutes late for our appointment with a 1-day-old baby due to road construction right next to the clinic. The staff had been informed about the delay over the phone.

We didn’t know that we needed to register on the first floor beforehand, so we weren’t accepted at all. They claimed we were 20 minutes late, even though we spent all that time trying to ask the staff for help. No one gave us any guidance—only ignored us.

SECOND REVIEW
I'm updating this review because I can't just talk about what I didn't like and ignore the good parts. Although the issue with the test my mom needs wasn't resolved and I had to go through the entire process from scratch, I want to highlight the work of Sirlana (I hope that's how it's spelled)—very attentive and committed to her job. Also, Dr. Neda Afshar, very sweet, attentive, and professional. I visited the clinic on a Saturday, and I must admit the environment was much friendlier.

FIRST REVIEW
I only continue going to this place out of necessity, but I hope to make a change soon. The processes are so absurdly bureaucratic that they even seem ridiculous.
My mom is 83 years old and visits the doctor somewhat frequently, for obvious reasons. Yesterday, I received a call informing me that a referral requested by her doctor back in May 2024—yes, last year—had been approved and that I should call to schedule the appointment.
I call the place that supposedly received the referral, and they can’t find it. I call Elica back to ask why it’s not there if it was requested 11 MONTHS ago and they’re just now telling me to use it. Their response: “It’s about to expire on May 9th, and most likely it will expire before you can get an appointment. You’ll need a new referral.”
I request an appointment with her doctor—“she has no availability.” I ask them to just reissue the referral so we can get the exam done—but no, that’s not possible. For that, I need to schedule a new appointment (which means waiting another month and a half) because the doctor has to start the process from scratch.
ARE YOU SERIOUS
How many departments are involved just to schedule a single appointment? Let me tell you, ALL of them are failing. Even if this were the biggest clinic in the world, the level of disorganization is unacceptable.
I’ve never seen a healthcare provider fail so consistently. And this is just my latest experience—I could write an entire article about their failed processes.
They urgently need a full review, from the Board of Directors down to the person answering the phones—who is probably so tired of hearing patients complain that they no longer even react to our concerns.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Vazir, who I believe is the Front Office Supervisor. He has been an incredible support to both the Afghan and Turkish communities. I’ve been with Elica since I immigrated to the United States, but ever since I met Vazir, my life has become so much easier. He goes above and beyond—helping not only with matters related to Elica Health Centers, but also assisting with other important documents outside of their services. His compassion, dedication, and willingness to help truly go above and beyond, and they’ve made a meaningful impact on my life.

I love going to this Elica Health Centers. I have been with Elica since 2016. They stay on top of referrals and the doctors are very helpful and actually take the time to listen to you. This location also has a pharmacy downstairs called Innova pharmacy that makes it convenient to get any prescriptions. You may need this pharmacy also delivers your medication’s if you need it delivered.

I am very disappointed in this clinic. I am also very surprised why it got such a high rating because a fair rating for this clinic is maximum 2 or 2.5 stars. I will explain why, there are many reasons why I say this clinic is bad.
First of all which is the main reason that made me making this review is the dismissal of coordinator Mrs. Angela. It is very difficult to express my disappointment of this decision, because it was the only reason I was going to this clinic. She is a Russian speaking clinic personnel that was always helping me with appointments, any issues regarding the clinic, and just was a friendly person that was nice to talk with. She was fired due to the false and unreasonable charges, and because of that degeneracy, I lost my only coordinator that I trusted and liked the most.
Second is that doctors in this clinic are very unprofessional, inexperienced, and most of them don't even care about you. One of the doctors made an injection that fast that half of my face just squished and got paralyzed for a couple seconds by pain. The result of the appointment was the poor made feeling that started to hurt when I drink tea or water. When I came back to them, they said that I either should hope for ibuprofen help me or I must delete the nerve in the tooth. The tooth was healthy before the appointment by the way. And it is not the only case, most of feelings made by them were either sharp, not straight, or even made the tooth hurt. Some doctors also make false or wrong diagnoses, like one dentist told me I need a crown and the other one told me I don't need it, and it is just back and forth which makes it very annoying. It is ridiculous how unprofessional the dentists are there and how careless they take your health there.
Overall, the clinic is indeed horrible and the only good thing about is the clean building. Like I said before, due to the dismissal of Mrs. Angela and bad dentists, I will most likely consider stop going to this clinic. I do not want to risk my health just so people that don't care about your health and other patients get money while doing a poor job.

Extremely unprofessional. My 4 months old has her appointment scheduled for tomorrow. The PCP was changed so they called me and told me if effective today you change the pcp back to us, the appointment won’t be cancelled. I called the insurance and effective today I changed the pcp back to Elica. But I just received a call from them that they canceled the appointment and their next availability is June 17. How unprofessional n careless clinic. Even health of a baby is business for them. She is a 4 month old and needs to be checked on time and have her vaccinations on time.

I am in complete shock that Angela Andriychuk is no longer working at this clinic. She was always an incredibly responsive and dedicated employee. She always helped Russian-speaking patients whenever needed and did everything possible to make people feel comfortable.

Angela didn’t just translate—she genuinely cared about every person, helping them understand their treatment and resolving any issues. She was highly responsible in her work and always went the extra mile for patients. Her support was invaluable to many people.

Now, in the clinic, no one wants to listen to patients, the attitude has become indifferent, and the management leaves much to be desired. It is truly unfortunate that such a professional and kind-hearted worker like Angela is no longer part of the team.
