Dr Vu has been my doctor for 20+ years. In response to a negative review, Dr Vu does charge up front but he has always refunded me my money once insurance pays him. He explains his billing routine up front to patients so it shouldn’t surprise anyone when they come to see him that this is the case.
He is kind & thorough and listens to his patients. It’s difficult to find a caring doctor who takes time with his patients. I’ve been with him a very long time so that should say a lot. I wouldn’t keep going to him if he were not kind & thorough.

Dr. Vu was helpful. He is clearly a good doctor and cares a lot about his patients. I felt he provided good insight and helpful guidance when I saw him. I will say, though, that talking to him was a little difficult. He gives little room for input and questions, and just kind talks over you and interrupts a lot. He speaks fast and doesn't listen super closely it seems.

I'm giving him one star though, because he scammed me completely. He told me that I would pay upfront in full for my appointment, then he would file a claim with insurance (in network, BCBS), and he would reimburse me the difference once he was paid by insurance. I signed his paperwork outlining that I agreed to this process. I was skeptical, but he seemed trustworthy, especially with his glowing reviews on here. I did note the few reviews saying his payment process was odd, but I decided to try trusting him because he seemed like a good doctor.

Month or so passes by, I hear nothing from him. I call my insurance. No claim was submitted. I call Dr. Vu. He tells me I am supposed to call insurance and get reimbursement myself. I say no, I signed your contract that says you will do that and you are supposed to reimburse me. So he says "no no no, I only work with the patients. I make time for the patients only. I don't have time to do paperwork with insurance." So I say fine, I will call insurance and see if I can get reimbursement myself. He sends me the bill and contract that I can send to insurance to get reimbursement. I see again that it is clearly outlined and stated that he will reimburse me after his actions taken with insurance. I proceed to call my insurance on my own anyway. My insurance health advocate tells me they need a claim from him, and reassures me that they will take over this process and call him themselves. Shortly after, I get a call from my advocate and she tells me they called him twice but he didn't answer. They suggest I wait to hear from him for a couple days and follow up if I do not hear from him or them. So I call Dr. Vu after the weekend passes (insurance called him on Friday), and I ask him if he received the calls from my advocate and what the hold up was. He says something along the lines of "Yes, Emily, I did receive their calls. I ignored them! Why did you have them call me? I only work with the patients, I have told you I have no time to do paperwork with insurance, that is your responsibility!" and I communicate that no, the contract I signed with him and the impression that was clearly communicated, written and verbally, that I received from him, was that HE would contact insurance. So not only did he do the exact opposite of what he said he would do, he gaslit me throughout my efforts to get this straightened out. I gave him the benefit of the doubt throughout the whole process, but because he never made any effort to make this right, I have to assume that he just scammed me. There are a few other short complaints about him on the internet about this issue. This is me sharing a lengthier review about my experience with him. Be warned!

My experience with Dr. Vu was great, he was extremely knowledgeable and super friendly. He made me feel very welcomed as soon as I walked in the building. He was well prepared and studied my files ahead of time before I had my appointment. He has a high respect for veterans and answered all of my questions that I had very clearly. I would recommend anyone going to see him.

Dr. Vu is an amazing physician. He is extremely knowledgeable, thorough and experienced. He has been able to figure out things that other doctors and practitioners missed or didn't take the time to diagnose properly. He listens to you and truly cares about your health and also you as a person. He is very friendly and also has a great sense of humor when appropriate. I am so thankful that he is my doctor! I trust him and worry less because of it.

Dr. Vu is a really great doc. He legitimately cares about your health and will work with you to better your health before prescribing a bunch of RX drugs. I appreciate his approach to medicine in this way. Great doctor!

I’ve been to the doctor twice. He helped me a great deal. He was extremely knowledgeable, great bedside, manners and sympathetic to the pain I was going through. He spent over an hour and a half Today helping me fill out forms for my disability. He could’ve not done more.

Had an arbitration review last June for Va. Meeting went well, however, the evaluation which was communicated to me was complete opposite of report written. Beware/not very professional
