Dr. Uy is a great physician, both in terms of her knowledge and her kind and caring manner with patients. When I go in for my annual checkup she takes the time to do a thorough job and asks the right questions to understand my current health, which is complicated by some chronic conditions. She also coordinates with my team of physicians to insure they are aware of my current healthcare history, especially changes in my medications.

As an example, a number of years ago I was prescribed antibiotics for an infection by another doctor. A few days later I developed acute tendinitis in my achilles tendons. I was scheduled to see Dr. Uy for my physical in a few weeks, but I called so that I could see her sooner because of the tendinitis. While she was doing the exam, she asked if anything had changed, including my medication. I told her I was taking Cipro, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic. She immediately diagnosed Fluoroquinolone-induced tendinopathy and had me discontinue the antibiotic. She was also aware that tendon rupture is a common occurrence, even months after discontinuation of the fluoroquinolone antibiotic. She therefore scheduled me to see a physical therapist.

Finally, I've read some of the poor reviews here. None of them are germane to Dr. Uy as a physician. All of them have found fault with scheduling at the family medicine clinic or other problems getting in to see a doctor. Doctor Uy always gets very high marks with patients.

I have had the pleasure of having Dr. Uy as my primary care physician for close to 20 years. Her caring, compassion and knowledge is always above and beyond expectations.
