Exceptional care and expertise. Kind but firm. The doctor and the staff made me and my husband feel welcomed and important. It seems a little funny to write a review about Dr. Makimaa and his staff; Everyone in Key West already knows he’s the best! I cannot say enough good things about the visits. From the receptionist, to the technicians, to Dr. Makimaa, everyone is super caring, genuinely nice and obviously professional. This is what every medical office visit should be like. They are fast but you never feel rushed. They are genuinely concerned about their patients and take time to listen. I could not be happier. Highly recommended. A+++

I am from New Jersey and I was visiting my brother in Key West. My ankle was bothering me weeks before I left for Florida. My brother suggested to go to his Dr. Makimaa to get it checked. This was on a Sunday, I called on Monday and they got me an appointment that day! That was the beginning of my amazing experience. Dr. Makimaa concluded I had a tear on my Achilles heel. He then put me in a boot and suggested laser treatment.
When I went in on Monday the dr could not even touch my heel without me jumping in pain. I decided to give the laser treatment a try and to my surprise this treatment was nothing short of a miracle. What I want to say is that Dr. Makimaa and his staff are the most accommodating, friendly and professional group I have ever worked with. Thank you all at Southernmost Foot and Ankle Specialists for all you have done for me.

Hurt myself in the gym today. Diagnosed with plantar fasciitis. Dr. Mikimaa and staff were very friendly, thorough and honest. Would recommend anyone to see them. Also got a stylish new boot for a few weeks.
