When we first got to AZ, we found NP Shirene. She was pretty good, but the "office manager" is atrocious, to say the least. Her interaction with my mom was absolutely shocking! The last visit my mom had here, unknowingly why, she had an outstanding balance of $1300. My mom called me while I was at work to try to find out why, so I spoke with the "office manager, who so matter of factly, siad she needed to pay. I told her NO, what she needs to do is rebill the insurance and per her own words, her office accepts my mons insurance. I further told her, she will not pay a penny, but the way my mom is, she paid cash for that days visit. The office managers bedside manner is consistently and continously the worst I've ever experienced. Unfortunately, this reflects poorly on the provider.
Additionally, I've had to wait weeks for medication to be filled and I've also had to wait weeks (20 days) to get any response on medication change. This was after 6 phone calls were made to the office.
If you take care of a family member, who can't handle their medical care on their own, DO NOT come here.

Dr. Woodham solved a year long problem for me in one visit. She really listened to how I was feeling and ordered an ultrasound that ended in me having emergency surgery but it was a relief to have been listened to. Highly recommend Dr Woodham as she is kind, knowledgeable, and her staff is amazing!

My visit was great! Staff was attentive and truly listened. Dr Woodham had excellent bedside manners and made me feel heard and understood. She did not rush me and created space for me to express my challenges. I look forward to continued care with DLPC!

Highly recommend DLPC! I went 8/9 and the staff are all very friendly. Back office staff took their time with me and had an awesome personality. I was able to get my blood drawn on site and was in and out quickly. Dr. Woodham is AMAZING! She took her time listening to me and was just easy to talk to about my health. I've found my new primary care Doctor for sure.

We love Desert Life Primary Care! I was able to get an appointment with Dr Woodham very quickly. She was amazing. Dr Woodham was thorough, listened to my concerns, didn’t rush and genuinely cares about my health. The front office staff were both responsive and flexible—working to get me a same day appointment. We are thankful to have found a great practice so close to home!

I have been a patient of Desert Life Primary Care for over a year now and am so happy to have found a PCP that is caring and knowledgeable. Every time that I call to get an appointment, the staff is incredibly friendly and I get in so quickly. When I arrive, I am always seen in a timely manner and the nurse + Dr. are both beyond professional. They listen to me and my concerns and address them each individually and thoroughly. I love that they make me feel like a valued patient rather than just a number. Thank you for all of the hard work that you do!

I thought I was done with this place until I got a second surprise bill in the mail seven months later. I deleted my previous review because I was trying to be courteous but a rude and uninformed front desk and surprise billing (x2) warrants a repost. Insisting on follow ups to go over blood work so you can bill a second visit is not my idea of good care. Doctor was fine but beware of the follow ups is all I can say. Read the other 1 star review for exactly what happened to me as well.

The inconsistent charging rates, unreliable billing process, and very poor communication standards make this a terrible doctor’s office. Dr. Woodham is a great doctor but that doesn’t matter because unfortunately you have to go through the terrible office experience to get to her… and apparently continue dealing with the office management for months after.

It’s the first week of September, and I just received a bill from May… I was told in May that my entire visit was covered 100% by my insurance. It was just establishing as a new patient and whatnot… I received this bill, which was really just a notification via email that there was a statement available in the patient portal. In accessing the patient portal, I can see that the charge is dated for today but is related to my visit from May, but considering I was told very explicitly that my insurance covered everything prior to the appointment (and at the appointment) I am very curious as to why they would be charging me anything at this point now. It’s rather frustrating that they would not have contacted me to address their billing error. Whether it’s a billing error now or if it was a billing error originally, I am rather shocked by the lack of communication. I called immediately, during their hours of operation and had to leave a voicemail. This place has really gone downhill quickly. I thought that I loved this place and I left a raving review when I first came here but then they fired the girl at the front (or she left abruptly, i don’t know), and then they changed their rates and went back on things that had been clearly stated, and charged me for the labs, which was a separate charge directly from the labs and a whole other ordeal in itself, then I was supposed to get some documentation for work and communication was really strained and then I didn’t even end up getting the help that I needed because originally it was free and then it was $50 for four pages of answers to basic patient questions and a signature... I’m just baffled at this point and I don’t recommend anyone else go here… there’s clearly a struggle as far as the office management is concerned.
