I can honestly say this is the finest bread I have ever had. I have been eating Deland millet special bread as a steady part of my diet. { allergies } Since 2001. What a great company !

It is such a treat to have this fabulous and large health food grocer and bakery and apiary right here in little old DeLand. They make the absolute best GF bread that I have ever eaten. And their honey is top notch, too! Thank you!!!

I have a lot of food sensitivities and love the zucchini millet bread. I never had a problem ordering it until recently when I received the bread very late and moldy. I contacted Deland and they assured me that they would refund my order…nothing. I reached out several more times over a month and a half. They won’t respond back or refund me.

I was in the store this afternoon and took one of the two gluten free pumpkin cakes out of the freezer to check the expiration date, as both of them were covered with a thick sheet of frost on the top, and I was concerned that they might have a freezer-burn taste and that I might be sorry that I bought it. There was a young woman employee right across from me, stocking the cooler shelves, so I asked her about the frost and the expiration date (I only saw a little sticker with a number on it which didn't look like a date). She seemed really reluctant to be helpful and told me "I'm putting things away, go ask the cashier up front", and when I asked again if she just knew if there was an expiration date that I wasn't seeing, she briefly said something about a "Julian calendar", which I never heard of, so I asked her what that was. She impatiently told me to check the paper near the bread in the front of the store and to match the code to it. Then rolled her eyes as I said thank you, and started walking away to check it. Then the cashier Diana didn't seem to be very clear on the store policy in case the cake did taste freezer-burnt. I did not like how the employees seemed so uninterested in being friendly and helpful. It's a shame that the store offers such nice, healthy options, yet the customers are treated with an unhealthy, toxic attitude. I would just let it go, but this is not the first time I have encountered rude, inept customer service.

I have had a very positive experience with Deland Bakery. The millet bagels are so good; much better than I expected and I am a bagel fanatic! Through email they kept me informed about the order’s progress and the bagels were delivered in a reasonable amount of time. The only reason I did not rate them as 5 is because the shipping cost is too high.

I have been ordering from Deland for over 5 years and it's the only bread my family and I like to have. We order in bulk every two months and enjoy the bread just like fresh because it freezes so well. Our favorites include the all natural selection: oatmeal bread, cinnamon raisin bread, millet dinner rolls, hamburger rolls and hot dogs!! You must try it to believe it 🙂
