FRAUDULENT PRACTICES
You must complete all paperwork online which is not a problem. The problem with this practice is you MUST pay $60 upfront to "secure your spot"!?

After completing all the required documents online, there was a $60 payment required to be paid upfront before receiving an appointment. I can't afford to pay $60 and wait until they bill my insurance and hope I get reimbursed. I said, "My insurance is in network and my co-pay is only $5 but I have met my out of pocket for the year. I live on a fixed income and can't afford to give up $60." Then the person I spoke with said she would speak to her office manager and call me back. Never received a return call, hurricane Ian happened.
I called back today to see about getting an appointment without paying the upfront $60 and was told, "It is our office policy to collect $60 upfront to secure your spot. Once your insurance is billed and paid you will receive a refund of the difference."

I called my insurance company and they said, "As per their SIGNED CONTRACT they are not permitted to collect more than your copay."

I am in dire need of a Psychiatrist but if this is how they treat people human beings with mental illness I am better off finding another doctor. And from the looks of their online reviews FIND A DIFFERENT DOCTOR!!

I have had nothing but the best experiences at Cornerstone with all the staff. They have always been polite and positive. My therapist, Joan, is just wonderful and makes me feel so comfortable and confident to share with her my experiences, goals, and expectations. I shall soon be meeting with Smitha who will be my Physician's Assistant as Nina has recently retired.

If I could give negative stars I would. I needed to set an appointment, and had been referred by my PCP for severe depression. To make a long story short, two people from this office (I believe it was the front desk) actually argued with me about the policies and information that is posted on their website. One of the two actually called me to defend the office after my first call ended.It was awful!! I felt ganged up on. And their policy requires that you pay $60 up front PRIOR to even setting an appointment! They were rude, there was ZERO compassion, and as I sit here shaking after this encounter, I'm thankful that I'm not actively suicidal, because that might have been the final insult. I even mentioned that and got another denial/argument. They're in the WRONG business. If you need treatment for depression, I recommend you avoid this facility.

I don’t know what I would do without Cornerstone Psychiatric. I was treated professionally with respect and kindness from the day I made my appointment til now which is about 4 years later. I have not one complaint including appointments and rescheduling.
