IF you are able to get someone on the phone (the other day I hung up after waiting 2hours 16 minutes to make an appointment) they will transfer you, most likely resulting in a disconnection. Cannot state strong enough how absolutely, positively frustrating this public service is to deal with!

These people are not here to help,I waited 7 1/2 months to be told by my worker that the $900 I get a month was over the limit and I couldn’t get any help,now my son and I are homeless.Thanks G Perez county worker!!!Get some people in there that’s actually going to help.!!!

I was transfered from a worker from Martinez to pleasant hill and no one informed me so my general assistance just stopped. On my paper it says antioch is where it suppose to be in the first place. The ladys excuse is because Martinez is further away when I needed a place to just pick up a phone line. Peasant hill is actually further away from me ironically. I need my money as I've been waiting to handle my animals emergency. The lady said it wasn't her problem and told me to talk to the new case worker at the other location. Except for a year and a half of pleasant hill and antioch not submitting my files hence why I submitted my papers over at Martinez which then helped me get general assistance. I am assuming I will never get any general assistance for how awful these locations are to any person who are In some kind of need. Lady wouldnt even answer my questions like what if the new case worker doesn't pick up or call back and the lady on the phone kept repeating "oh she will" not taking in the fact I've already had this issue before. Was told my new worker would answer then and hung up... So if this location doesn't pick up the phone for how notorious pleasant hill is for not responding back what do I do let my pet die? Lady on the phone said it wasn't her problem. Guess those thoughts pass by in a day like its nothing for someone who probably doesn't struggle too much in life its crazy that the people on these phone lines have no care about the people they're suppose to be helping...

they requested proof of income 30+ days after we had submitted it with our medi-cal application on covered ca. they didn't provide any reason why what we submitted was not good enough and didn't provide any description of the alternatives they were looking for. they said it had to be received by them 3 (THREE!) business days after they actually sent the letter (based on the post mark, not the fake date they dated the letter as - though that would still be a tight turnaround), and only gave us mailing in an option, so basically impossible to meet their vague requests and impossible deadlines, when we already submitted sufficient proof. i guess they are just making up reasons to reject people.
