My husband is ill. Bipolar to be specific. During this episode I called this place several times seeking help. Trying to avoid my husband HURTING someone. I kept telling them he was DANGEROUS! They kept telling me he wasn’t. YOU WERE ALL WRONG! No one took me seriously and now it looks like he has stabbed someone! I want the world to know. It may have been my husband holding the knife, but the people who refused to help, claimed they weren’t responsible for him, THEY ARE JUST AS GUILTY!!!!!! This includes the unhelpful staff here at the CRC. Perhaps next time someone calls and begs you for help you’ll actually stop to think before you blow them off. I want the victim, and their family to know, their anger needs to be directed at you as well for failing to provide services which would have protected all involved from this. THIS IS THEIR FAULT!

For being a crisis response center, it seems the first people you encounter do all they can to rile a person up that is already sad and confused. 🙁

I watched as a bystander, a horrific scenario. The man working was nothing short of APPALLING in his behavior towards someone trying to visit a patient. The person came in so calm but sad and confused, but after an experience like that, with that man, I thought they too would be admitted. Maybe that is what the are trying to do? Maybe more patients, more funding?

I would love to know the policies and procedures that should be in effect for the front desk of this CRISIS RESPONSE CENTER?

What kind of crisis center pushes off anyone that is suicidal You talk with said patient for a few minutes, come to the conclusion that they are "fine" and release them to go back home with their parent. I cannot believe the experience my family had. You guys are FAILING OUR CHILDREN. Do not take your child(ren) here if they are in crisis. 0/5 stars.

I went here voluntarily for and it was a great experience the staff was professional and friendly they deal with A LOT so it's shocking they stay calm and cool my doctors were friendly and very resourceful and helpful my case managers were amazing I have Eric and I believe Vanessa the workers on the floor watching us making sure we were safe were awesome I really liked Von I believe he said his name was he was super nice and helpful but they all were I didn't have anyone who wasn't very helpful except the night I was admitted there was some guy with a baby face idk his name and he seemed like he was soooo annoyed anyone asked him for anything even to use the restroom he would let out some big dramatic sigh he was really rude to an older man that was there because he was confused and forgot what was going on every short while. He even had attitude with his co workers telling them to stop what they were doing when moving chairs around he just seemed like he hated his job maybe not the field for him but other than him that place was GREAT I now have the resources I need

i also didn’t have a good experience here during my freshman year, i stayed here for about 4 days and definitely did not enjoy my stay at all

first of all nobody cares about you or your mental health, the only thing you do all day is rot in your bed or watch tv with the other kids, i’m not sure how this is beneficial at all for your mental health being locked in a small room and just watching tv all day or even sometimes we got to go outside but there’s nothing to even see because of the high brick walls they have

i literally wore the same underwear for days too because i had no change of underwear and wasn’t even asked if i needed to change at all, they didn’t provide me with toothbrushes toothpaste deodorant nothing so i went days without brushing my teeth, i’m not even sure if you’re supposed to ask but i’m a human being and i wasn’t even given my basic necessities, and by the way they do offer combs but it literally broke while i was brushing my hair because they don’t have anything for us people with curly/afro hair unfortunately

the nurses and techs that work here are so unprofessional too, tech told me ‘you look like don’t belong here’ like are mentally ill people supposed to look a certain way i’m confused? also the nurse was super annoyed that my mom was calling & checking up on me the first day i was here she even made a comment saying ‘ugh your mom is calling again’ like i’m sorry that she cares about me?

anyways i highly do not recommend sending your child here, it’s not a friendly or safe environment at all

Reading all of the other one star reviews, is sad. Very true They absolutely should not call themselves a crisis response center, if you are at all in crisis, they will make your night worse.

This is specifically in regard to the adolescent unit. If this were an episode of Parks and Rec, the incompetence, lack of concern, and lack of positive outcomes would actually be pretty funny. It's like hitting your head against a brick wall, and there seem to be two potential outcomes, either they discharge them and say, "ok, they're your problem again now, good luck with that" or admit them to a level 1 place, where they will keep them for a week then say, "ok, they're your problem again now, good luck with that." The communication, both explanation and guidance and listening to understand are largely absent. It does not matter why you go, it does not matter how specific you are with what you're hoping to accomplish with the visit, they seem to be pre-programmed to proceed in the exact same manner regardless, which will be done with the lowest amount of care, effort, and communication probably legally allowable. I did give them 2 stars rather than 1 for the following reasons: 1) there are literally no other options in Tucson, it's not like you can see the terrible reviews for this place and go to a different crisis response center 2) they have a leg up on many other behavioral health services in Tucson in that they are just neutrally worthless and at least don't actively make things worse 3) your experiences here will make for really entertaining stories that will blow the minds of your family and friends. On the bright side, while they didn't give me any actual guidance or assist in actually setting up any follow-up services or referrals or appointments, they *DID* hand me a one-page printout with phone numbers for a fraction of the resources and information I could have just gotten myself on Google in a matter of seconds.

Bottom line
CONS: worthless waste of time and does not help the original issues
PROS: still somehow better than a lot of the behavioral health services in Tucson and does not make the original issues worse

The only good experience was the intake process. I was then immediately discharged despite experiencing an episode of PTSD, and depression. One individual thought it was funny to make a "Would you rather go to prison." joke despite my mental state, and me being a minority. I was completely uncomfortable with the direction my assessment went. After all of that, I was then given a hilariously long list of other facilities to contact. I understand that some people get admitted to these locations in a much worse state than mine, but this facility single handedly discouraged me from pursuing mental health help in Tucson again. I hope they do better, even for the most minor of symptoms patients may have. ?
