I love working at Comfort Keepers in Niceville, FL. I’ve worked at 4 agencies in the last 20 years and the reasons I love them are the following:
1. They are understanding and approachable. The office staff have worked in the field as caregivers and they understand what the caregivers are going through.
2. They pay trip stipends if you have to go through tolls. They give out Amazon gift cards around holidays and if you take on emergency shifts.
3. The communication in the office is excellent. They send out a mass email/text when your W2 forms are available, so you can do your taxes as early as the first week of January.
4. Lastly, they have PLENTY of work and will work with your schedule. 💜

My parents hired this company very recently. Yesterday my mom called me, upset about their care provider asking her and my father about pawn shop locations nearby and complaining about needing to sell off jewelry for needed extra income. While this is always a sad situation, laying their financial woes on the elderly is a long well known ploy for predatory caregivers looking to take advantage of vulnerable elderly feelings. Im pretty sure that I've read somewhere that this is a type of elder abuse and against the law. I will soon be needing to hire in home care myself and this is one organization i definitely will not turn to for my business. They have already proven to be a poor judge of employment character.

I receive the best service ever from this company. The women in the office are so kind and caring to me. I am a 63-year-old army veteran who had a severe stroke. The woman that takes great care of me every day is an angel. It is by far the best home health I have received after my stroke. I thank GOD every day for the hard work this company has given me since I have been with them. The owner is also very kind and caring. You can't go wrong with this home health company.

We did have a great caregiver until she left the company. Ever since they had hard time getting someone for our shift. My dad has Parkinsons and dementia. They don't call to let you know if someone isn't coming or if they can't fill the shift. I had one come in and say she had bed bugs coming out her purse when she left. Which was not true. And I had to get terminex out to do an inspection and send in proof they was not any bed bugs found dead or alive! Ever since this incident we have not had a regular caregiver. Someone different. Haven't had a caregiver again for about two weeks and no one has contacted me about why. I had to call and the excuse I got was because of smoking in house. I quit smoking in house months ago. Have cleaned carpets etc.. I feel like they are not telling me the real reason why. He can be difficult sometimes, especially when they come into his home telling him what he needs to do. Or push him to get a shower when he first meets you. You're a stranger in his home. Dont come in barking orders! Im very disappointed in this company and how unprofessional they have been since we lost our regular caregiver. Do better! Im glad they contacted the va to get another company! But they should have contacted me as well!

This was our first time hiring home help and we are very happy with our helper from Comfort Keepers. She is very respectful and courteous, tries to be as helpful as possible, communicates if her schedule changes, and is always on time. We highly recommend this company.

I hired this company for transportation to a medical procedure and post-op care return trip home almost two weeks in advance. I was told there was a four-hour minimum, which worked out fine as I would probably need her a little longer than that. I gave them my credit card. They assured me they would be able to provide service. Because of their lack of details, I called them at least 4 more times after to verify they were going to schedule me, stressing how important it was and they assured me they had it taken care of. On Tues, I was told they make the schedule for the following week on Wed and she would call me after that and let me know the details. After not hearing back, I called again on Friday and was again assured it was taken care of. I was told Okia would be at my house at 6am on Monday to get me to the hospital for my 7am check in. Monday morning no one showed up. I immediately called and left a message. 10 mins called again and they answered and said she would call and find out when they would arrive. After 10 more mins, I call back and she says she texted her, but no reply. This person did not even have the decency to ever once call me or even place a call to Okia to see why she was late. After calling her 4 times and getting the same run around, I gave up. I spent all the previous day, prepping for this procedure and it was very painful - all a waste I will have to do it again. I asked to speak to a manager or owner and was told the manager would call me at 8am. He never called. I found his email address and emailed him four times throughout the day and he never bothered calling or returning my emails. Based on my experience, I would think twice before you trust this company to provide you or your loved one services!
