I was brought to College Hospital Cerritos under what I believe was an unjust and unnecessary 5150 hold. This experience was deeply traumatic and felt more like being subjected to a concentration camp and a political prisoner

The conditions at the hospital were unacceptable:
Filthy environment crazy people coughing everywhere farting at night in my room, no soap in the bathroom toilet clogged easily
The environment was oppressive, with little regard for patient dignity or comfort.
Staff exercised excessive and unchecked power, making the experience feel punitive rather than therapeutic.
Constantly lied or didn’t follow through on verbal agreements and promises.

Tried to force me someone in perfect physical and mental health to take drugs which turned people there into zombies unable to form sentences or thoughts, multiple times a day they tried to force these drugs on me not respecting my wishes to not take them

The incident that brought me there stemmed from an unfair termination at Century 21 Classic Estates, which affected me career-wise and campaign-wise. I mistakenly called 911 out of frustration, intending to communicate the emotional impact of my situation, not an actual physical crisis. Instead of compassion or understanding, I was subjected to a system that completely disregarded context and escalated the situation unnecessarily.

While I understand the importance of safeguarding individuals in true crisis, this experience was nothing short of traumatizing for someone like me, who was in perfect mental, physical, emotional, and social health and simply needed support, not confinement.

I was here over 10 years ago, went in voluntarily and wasn't allowed to leave even though I was not on a psychiatric hold. I don't know how this disgusting place hasn't been shut down. In my time there, I was harassed by 3 different people, one being my roommate and they made fun of me, for being uncomfortable. Actively made me stay in my room because my absence was upsetting my roommate who was harassing me and attempting to touch me while I was in there for help with my own mental illness. I had a nurse tell me I was hallucinating when I found mass amounts of bed bugs crawling all over my bed and when I finally got another nurse to check, the room was so infested you could actually SEE the bugs everywhere, but I was the one hallucinating. Myself and my first roommate in my 7 day involuntary forced hold, were made to sleep on chairs in our lunch room for the female side, then we were verbally abused by the staff because we were unable to sleep on the chairs. One of the people who was harassing me? A male. Would constantly walk into the female side and stare through the widow on my door at me, I informed the nurses because it made me nervous and concerned and it was all brushed off that oh he's not a threat it's fine. That's not the point, I'm there to receive help, not be harassed and held hostage. I committed myself of my own free will and was forced to stay for 7 days, all they care about is money and not their patients that their supposed to be helping.

My experience: house supervisor Kelly M. Was rude! She was unprofessional and not supportive! Parents come here for help and she was explaining how she’s in charge! No parent wants to hear that! How can you help us? There’s a hospital need and the hospital needs to address this! Parents wait in the lobby up to two hours before being helped! Why can’t staff start paperwork? Why wait this long for clinicians? Hospital what can you do to help parents, patients, and community!!!! We need hospital support not just the clinicians who have to travel! Front desk staff is amazing! Need a new house sup who cares more for families than her position! Come learn to be a graceful leader instead of hiding behind a phone!

The main problem with this place is the doctors who add time to everyone who comes here. I was told by staff that I didn’t belong here but I guess in my drunken state at the ER I said some things i shouldn’t have. I understand that it is for severe cases and can respect that but sometimes people slip through the cracks who don’t really belong there and should be treated accordingly.

Oh my God! 🙏 💔 Why hasn't this place been shut down yet?
Why hasn't anyone gotten a class action suit together?. This place is a menace to anyone fighting drug or alcohol abuse, or mental health issues and needs true caring loving support and help.

My son was in here like 8 years ago for heavy alcohol abuse & withdrawal.... He lost his wife and had a hard time dealing with it it was a huge loss for him until he finally came to terms with it but before that he suffered greatly hadn't realized he was addicted to alcohol, so that became his DLC to try and numb the pain of the hurt.

When he went off the grid and onto a drinking binge, it was heavy and when finally found, he was completely crushed. He was a fighter and tried to fight it all the way through but once he took that drink it was game over.

What he needed was medical detox,
To get back in his program and have some greater support and keep going because we all believed in him and knew he could do it.
Today he's heading for 6 years of solid sobriety. 💖

I wrote a former review about this place when he was in there because what I saw was horrific and what he went through in there was worse than not being in there!
There is nothing for them to do but that's just minor compared to what else happens while you're in there.
He never got the right medication, which was mainly for heart and an antidepressant. But they insisted that he needed a sedative type drug and just completely doped him up.
They wouldn't let me talk to him,
And they wouldn't let him call me until I threatened them with an attorney. There were patients that were violent that he was put in with,
And he was not violent whatsoever,
And at one point another patient tried to strangle him from behind, while he was at the table reading.
The worst part about that was they tried to blow it off, and lied about it trying to make it sound less than what it was. I seriously wanted to sue them, and I still do!

This place needs to be shut down!
Parents do not allow your son or daughter to go here no matter if they're of age or not of age (adult).

When I think of this place even to this day it makes me sick to my stomach and it also hurts my heart that these types of things are going on & they are hurting our loved ones more than helping them, and getting away with it as well.

I would join a class act suit in a heartbeat against College Hospital!

It should be called nightmare hospital and they should make a horror movie about the company!

I was there for a week, the first week of July, 2021. Most of the day we had to stay inside our room. Fortunately I'm a book worm and I had a few books to read, and fortunately my two roommates were quiet. Some of the other rooms were louder, so you never know what you'll get. There wasn't much therapy time. My psychiatrist spoke to me for a couple minutes each morning. There was group therapy outside a couple times a day. And I will say the good thing about this place is after group therapy we were allowed to stay outside for a half hour to an hour, and they had a basketball hoop out there. I was at a place in Nashville where they didn't let you go outside at all, so this was a plus. Food sucks. You get to watch a movie at night. Mostly, this place seemed like time-out for adults. I'm not sure what was the ultimate point. But at the same time I guess I really just needed to be put away somewhere for a week to think things over. But if you're in need of some serious therapy ... I don't know.
