First off, I would like to thank the staff for all their effort in my treatment plans and helping me to get better. It was an eye opening experience. I was fortunate to also have made new friendships with some amazing folks who also has their own story. Just remember you are not alone. This place can really help if you truly embrace the treatment plans. I realized the ones who gave this place a negative review are the ones who fought their treatment plans and demanded to go home before they were ready to be cured. That being said, I especially want to thank a few staff members that went above and beyond for me, Miss Lisa, you my girl thank you for ALWAYS looking out for me! Miss Erika, many blessings to you for sharing your story it was heartfelt, Miss Nicole I hope you had fun at your concert and keep smiling, and Miss Ashton you have been such a delight and very entertaining. Thank you Big Mike the cook for the yummy alternatives when we did not agree with main meals. You all saved my life.I can't thank you enough. And I hope you enjoyed the crossword books I donated to the transitions wing.
Always,
Sherrie

They lie to you every step of the way. They take away your life your dignity your self confidence. You get bad food, and cold showers everyday and they expect you to tell how great the world is for you. A 10/13 that’s a 72 hour hold is just words to them expect to be there 5 days no matter what you going on in your life. You are treated like a lier even if your blood work shows differently. It an abuse of power that they expect you to pay for.

The best part of my time at Coastal has been the staff. Some names - not all who've afforded me compassion, respect, and dignity, but many of them, include: Nicholas B, nurses Val and Rebecca, Sebastian, the kind and gracious Nikki, the quiet and patient Ashton, Joe; these are only a few of the names who made my stay palatable and comfortable. The nurses, to whom all my respect and appreciation are due, always reciprocated my respect with patience and understanding. The floor techs, were always encouraging and never degrading or short with me. They encouraged my recovery in any ways that were permissible, including helping me get material to work on a fourth step, reading material for entertainment, and always put clients immediate needs ahead of any paperwork in front of them. They would listen if I needed a quick ear, and they understood that people have sick days, and days not so easily conquered through adversity. I can't say enough how respect was everything in my stay, and a big boost to my personal self esteem has been that for once truly, where I gave respect I perceptively received it. Nonetheless, even those who who suffered and needed to shout received warm responses and all the compassion one might ask for, and more than I could've offered in patience and understanding. The facilities are not perfect, but the cleanliness of the dorm and it's smooth operation has as much to due with a clients willingness to give back or even surrender to the treatment, as anything else. I went in lacerated and demoralized, and they quickly found me the treatment for not only my physical wounds, but a great number of the holes in my spiritual dilapidation. I haven't read anybody else's reviews. I can honestly say, from my perspective, this was any opportunity where I was offered treatment and consolation, and the more I gave, the more I received. I am forever grateful and, as an adult, I can see the humanity and patience in their efforts. The food was great, only one or two meals came cold due to difficulty in staff, but people are human. I have little to say of the psychiatric doctors, but not negatively, they are probably understaffed in that regard, but I'm only speculating. The nurses had gentle hands and kind eyes, warm smiles and helpful souls. I recommend this facility for anyone needing time away, or experiencing a crisis. The fifth star I reserve for perfection, and I've never given a five star reviews. Nevertheless, these four stars indicate the best mental health stay Ive ever had, and I've had a lot.

I had a HORRIBLE experience! Please DO NOT and I MEAN DO NOT send anyone here. I was on day 3 and it seemed like I wasn’t getting the held I needed. I haven’t spoken to a therapist, psychiatrist, nobody! They told me unfortunately they don’t do one on one therapy . They do these so called “group therapy” which doesn’t help and includes playing trivia all the time. You barely eat cause the food is SO DISGUSTING. I reported to Ronald that the showers were cold but it seems like they didn’t get them fixed because when I was released they were still cold. Like everyone says they only keep you there long because of insurance money. They don’t realize sitting in one room can really cause someone to go crazy!! Played games, watched tv and colored all day. Literally a waste of time! Didn’t get the help I needed! 0/10 recommend. If I could rate this place a 0 star I would!

Terrible, terrible, terrible! If you weren’t depressed before going you will be when inside. They have it setup to cause you to be the most uncomfortable possible, it’s already uncomfortable that you have to go through a place like this. The floors were never cleaned while I was here making then sticky and gross. I requested my shared shower be cleaned and that never happened. At intake they took most of my clothes from me and a rubber wedding ring I wear in place of my real one. Yet others were wearing there actual rings and clothes that were worse than mine were. Some of the staff are very friendly and truly concerned about the wellbeing of everyone.
I would like to acknowledge Taylor the evening lead tech & Garret one of the floating techs that came to our wing & The daytime Charge nurse that worked the weekend. (I hate that I can’t remember her name). Anyway all three of them showed compassion, listening, and understanding. I truly appreciate that hence even a star rating.
This place was unbearable and gave off a facade to family members checking in at the front desk. The kitchen/cafeteria were disgusting, the tables and floor were so sticky and dirty it made you not want to eat. But if you didn’t eat they keep you longer. I did all I could to get out of this place ASAP. The only coping skill taught was when Garret went through a 4,7,5 breathing method. They tried to discuss sleep being important but wouldn’t give us enough sleep. We would be woken up throughout the night and not able to go in our rooms til 11pm often then to be woken abruptly at 5 am just to sit in the common area for hours waiting on med pass. Oh lord, don’t let them change your meds or they keep you longer.

disgusting; cold water, filthy bathrooms, and food quality so poor I couldn’t believe it. Please, if you are considering seeking voluntary mental health help, do not even call this place for your own health and safety.

Only giving 2 stars bc there was SOME staff that did actually care about my well-being there. There was some ppl that thrived off our triggers. They told me 72hours held me for 10 days gave me no information on how and when discharge would go. Honestly would never go again. I think thr only reason why it helped was for some of the other residents and very few staff like the MHTs Carol Tate Hannah where honestly the 3 main ppl that where awesome there where more but these 3 where hands down the best.

I was in this place when I was 14 years old and I was abused and they broke my ankle and busted my lip open where I had to get stitches. This place is like going to jail actually jail would be better. Do not send your kids to this place.!!!!
