went for about 2 years then my father passes away so i missed a few appts bc well alot was going on so they kicked me out. so now im stuck on medication they forced me to take that i can no longer get so yay me cant wait for those withdrawal symptoms then i got ignored till they made me so upset to the point i called every number they have listed. they truely do not care at all about anyone it is so sad especially they are supposed to help. they actually made my situation worse i have never had to be admitted to a hospital but they forced me to . i highly recommend never going here. if you need actual help and or counseling do not go here. they will severely ruin and make you and addict. i do not want to be on medications that i now need to find elsewhere that i never needed but was forced on it. very unempathetic to anything and their patients. Patient care is not on their list of things to do. not to mention my last interaction with them was a employee i saw out in public knowing how HIPPA works i kept quiet due to HIPPA and it being her job but she took it upon herself to say yes she knows me then lectured me on how she cant talk to me bc of HIPPA.. i work in the field and as a worker and patient i know HIPPA and i feel so uncomfortable now knowing she is out in public seeing patients saying hello to them. it is very unprofessional how they act and treat people who need to be here. its very sad and unprofessional. being in the field its even more sad how patient care is treated and how they don't care about patient confidentiality .

Been coming here for a decade, while they have helped me in many ways in my life. Often they're completely useless. I get very little actual therapy, just blunt things to do and work on. The therapist change every year and some are good most are bad.
their care coordinators are useless. I had one guy who was great and helped me a lot. the rest didn't want to even be there.
Ive had several psychiatrist. One was a medication nut who wanted me on everything under the sun. But she would do a lot for me. Went out of her way to try to have me committed.
The other doesn't want to fill any paperwork and practically lets me choose my meds. I don't know if this is a good thing

I have been fortunate to have an amazing therapist, but recently, a nurse named Elizabeth called me unexpectedly and started yelling at me, accusing me of missing an appointment. I explained that I did see my therapist and hadn't missed any appointments, but she continued to speak over me and eventually transferred the call to my therapist. This was completely unacceptable, as I did not miss any appointments.

I called the office and spoke with the supervisor, demanding an apology from the nurse. The supervisor checked the system and informed me that I had indeed missed an appointment scheduled after my therapist session. However, I was never informed about this additional appointment—no reminders, no texts. They scheduled an appointment without my knowledge and then yelled at me for missing it? This is supposed to be a mental health clinic.

Front desk and scheduling team members need to improve on their professional customer service skills. At least don't be rude when calling the clients.

Yet another crown jewel in the absolutely abysmal mental health care system we have in this country. Don't take my word for it, just take a look at all of the other reviews...Central Nassau Guidance is simply a mill that could not care less about you or your loved one. My mother is the unfortunate patient of this facility through AOT and victim of total apathy and utter negligence by her "care team". My family and I have made repeated attempts to reach her overseeing doctor, NP and even the director of the program - no one can bother to return our calls. It's impossible to reach a human being. Sherri Kaplan is just another number in the phone tree that goes straight to voicemail. There is absolutely zero communication. As her family, we are trying to work with this team to get my mother well again - while their sole interest seems to be in continuing to bill her Medicaid. They ought to be audited by New York State DOH.

I'll never understand why people go into health care who so blatantly don't care about the patients they're supposed to be helping.

As a former employee of the PROS program, I would wholeheartedly recommend Central Nassau Guidance (CNG) to my family and friends. My experience with this organization has been exceptionally positive. Working closely with both the team and clients, I found CNG to be a beacon of excellence in counseling, mental health, and substance abuse treatment. This sentiment was also expressed among many clients of the PROS program.

Therapists have a habit of having discussions with parents regarding confidential client information loudly in the shared waiting room instead of taking the parents into their individual offices. I have walked out of the room multiple times so I would not hear as they discussed other people's sessions and information in front of me and multiple people in the waiting room. Our therapist is great and does not do this. However, the manager of the location should train the staff not to do this as it is inappropriate.

Don't go anywhere near this Mental Health Housing Agency. In my opinion, the abuse and neglect you will get from various staff members is beyond thinkable and criminal. You concerns will never be taken seriously. You will be forced to live in a firetrap apartment like I have been for over 6 months. I have reported the agency several times to the Fire Marshal, and still none of the dangerous safety hazard's getting fixed or taken seriously at all by C.N.G. agency. I have been asking various staff to move me to a better housing agency over the past 15 years and still not been taken care of as promised from staff. I have no where else to go or I would have moved years ago, but get no help from anyone anyhow in this place period. Run as far away as you can from this place if you cherish you life and safety.
