I recently got a puppy and found this hospital on here. The front desk was very welcoming. They gave me the option to watch them give my puppy her first set of shots. Which i thought was very comforting . They answered all my questions. 10/10 would recommended!! S/O to the technician who helped!!!

Hi, I like to recommend City Pet Hospital. They have helped my two dogs when my primary vet facility don’t take emergency appointments on regular working days. Although I like my regular vet facility they are too busy to take in emergency. The emergency centers are very expensive! City Pet Hospital took excellent care of my dogs and this is a big relief that they were able to see us without waiting so long! Please checkout and visit them!!

Buddy was well taken care of. I got an appointment same day. He was diagnosed and immediately received minor surgery. Everyone there was terrific, including the receptionist, the technician and the doctor. He was well taken care of. His instructions for care were both explained to me and given to me in a written report. He is now recovering and he received excellent care and follow up. I do not hesitate to give City Pet hospital my highest recommendation.

I Would not trust them to care for my pets. This place treated me very dishonestly and there's cheaper places that are professional and trustworthy with no drama. I was told by the person who answered the phone that the first visit is free. She mentioned nothing about needing a coupon. We took our dog in and they charged $95.00. When I questioned it i was told I had to talk to the manager. I had to wait 5 days for the manager to come in. I called in the morning the day he was supposed to come and I was told he was running late and would it be in till later. I called several more times and just got the runaround. Dee who answer the phone and who I spoke with several times Not only was completely unprofessional, and in my opinion very rude, she also lied to me and hung up on me. She knew that I was told the first visit was complementary and there was no mention of needing a coupon.. Dee said I still had to pay the full office visit and told me several times that the manager was aware of it and he also wanted me to pay. After 5 days of no return calls and the runaround I actually had to Drive to the clinic and wait 30 minutes to see the manager. He refunded my money but I believe he had no intention of doing so if I hadn't gone there in person. He then told me that Dee didn't know that their policy changed and I didn't need a coupon. But she told me several times that he was aware of it and still wanted me to pay. She lied to me several times so it's hard to know who's telling the truth. I can't believe this place told me it would be free and then after the fact told me I needed a coupon after never mentioning anything about a coupon and then refuse to return my calls or assist me for 5 days until I went down to handle it in person. This was such a waste of my time. I don't trust these people with my pets after what they pulled. Dee also lied about hanging up on me, she said she put me on hold but I told her I heard her slam the phone down and she said well that's because I didn't like what you said. I really liked the vet and we are new to the area and are right down the street, but they have lost my business. I could never trust my pets with people like this. I have no idea why employers hire people like Dee to drive away business and give the establishment a horrible reputation. They come to work with bad attitudes and have zero bedside Manner and customer service skills let alone doing their job and being honest. I asked the manager to review the camera so he could see how she caught herself up in a lie but I'm guessing he didn't and I never heard back from him.

City Pet hospital needs to work on their customer service. Receptionists are unenthusiastic about helping anyone and it's a dangerous place. Essentially they guess as they diagnose (which is not uncommon in finding treatments) but they prescribed my dog steroids which led to him getting colitis from the irritation in his stomach. His feces has been mostly blood and we took him to an emergency vet who said that he should've never been prescribed with that medicine - even without a thorough screening. I haven't even been able to receive my invoice/prescription because they have the wrong email on file. I called to update it and request the invoice, didn't hear back for a few hours. I called again and they still had not updated my email address and told me I could expect the email at the end of the day because they were backed up. It takes 2 minutes maximum to forward an email with an attachment. Take your pets elsewhere.

Best Vet experience! Everyone was so nice and helpful during our first visit. Baby (the cat) was nervous but not scared. Scheduled her next appointment as I left which was very helpful due to my schedule. Thank you City Pets Staff!

+ Friendly staff, clean facility.

- looong wait time. I was about to leave and come another day. Took 1hr wait time (with appointment!) to get a simple vaccination shot.

- the required 'doctor exam' was checking heart rate and lung = 90$ Not really necessary and below expectations.

Overall ok. Might have been just an unlucky day. But I would reconsider going there when in a rush

It has taken me almost a year to write this but I finally have the courage and emotional strength to do so.

On May 19th 2023, my wife was rushing around trying to get our dog care as he was having labored breathing and a weird wheezing like cough. At the time, she was closest to City Pet Hospital. My wife took our dog in and asked to be seen as it was urgent (you could visibly see our dog suffering) and she was turned away and was recommended a place in San Mateo to take him.

My wife had to drive 30-40 minutes in stop and go traffic in the afternoon with our dog suffering on her lap. I got there before her from work and started the paperwork because she was still stuck in traffic!!!! By the time she had gotten to her exit he stopped breathing. She pulled over immediately and started running with kiwi in her arms, but it was too late.

Our dog DIED because City Pet Hospital refused to see him and then recommended a hospital so far away.

I believe that if they had even taken the slightest moment to recognize his visible suffering and acted with urgency, Kiwi would still be alive. & I say this because we were told by the place we took him said had he got care sooner there would've been a small chance he could've been helped. Small I know, but still a chance.

I'm still not over it and neither is my wife. My poor wife is TRAUMATIZED by this experience so much so she got rid of the car that she was driving him in that day.

And don't get me wrong, I've worked at a pet hospital, I know that sometimes care isn't always available at that moment. But I do know how triage works. I'm appalled that labored breathing and wheezing cough and visible suffering was not of urgent care in their eyes.

I do not recommend this place at all. Simple as that.
