Thomas Lopez at reception was absolutely terrible. He showed zero compassion and was extremely rude throughout the entire interaction. It’s honestly no surprise this place has a 2.8 rating. What makes it worse is that the emergency room was completely empty, so there was no excuse for the lack of professionalism. If you work in the medical field, the bare minimum is to treat people with respect and empathy. Clearly, that standard isn’t being met here.

If i could leave zero stars i would. Please try to avoid coming to this place if you value your health and are a minority. It is disgraceful for a medical center to treat patients so inhumanely. I came in at 9am this morning with severe knee pain and it is now 12:21pm and I'm still waiting outside to see a doctor. At times, i've been the only person left in the waiting area and still had not been called. I've checked with the front desk guy several times and told him i've seen countless people that came after me get treatment and leave. I get the same excuse, provider is busy with a patient. It's been 4 hours now and still nothing. Am I invisible? I don't want to think about it but does race/ethnicity play a role on how fast you get to be seen? It seems it does in this particular place. 5 hours in and i've given up and left. They never saw me nor showed any concern. Worst ER experience ever!

EDIT: After returning my car and keys, a section of my keys was missing. After calling multiple times to report this with no adequate response, I can only assume that they've been stolen by the valet. DO NOT GO HERE.
Showed up with chest pain and shortness of breath. Although the xray they did showed I had a lung infection, the doctor diagnosed me with "just a panic attack" and sent me home in an Uber with a prescription for anti-anxiety meds and no medication. When the symptoms flared up again the next day, I went to a different emergency room and they actually helped me.

Oh, and this ER still has my car and my keys.

It is unfortunate that the Cedars brand owns facilities like this one. I understand they are under construction, but that is no reason to be understaffed and have a deplorable and dirty area for patients to wait. The one unisex bathroom was disgusting and did not have a lock. It was not cleaned the entire time I was there.
I never go to ERs unless it’s unavoidable, this time with a serious medical concern and because of its nature, they gave me a special color bracelet and had me hop on a gurney covered by a curtain division in the small waiting area, then I sat in the the area “waiting for a bed”. Two hrs in they did X-rays and bloodwork, and after 5 hours I finally saw a doctor only to find out she was still “waiting for the results” (which I had already read on my Cedars app moments before). After almost 7hrs sitting on hard plastic chairs, my symptoms slowly decreased and I was exhausted and requested to be released. Incredibly they asked me to wait another few hours to repeat the bloodwork, but I refused. The doctor then said that considering the gravity of the associated pain, it could be dangerous to leave and I would be doing so against medical advice. I figured, sitting there for hours without proper monitoring or treatment, it made no difference. So I signed their waiver and left. After so many hours, they arrived at nothing. I’m glad this time my condition didn’t turn critical but I’m afraid to think what would have happened if it did as they are obviously not equipped or staffed for such purposes.

Everyone from the security guard, triage nurse, radiology, my treating nurse and doc were so kind, professional and caring. Sure, I spent hours but it’s an ER in a major city and while there I was comfortable, listened to, and treated. Honestly I’m in awe of the work these people do under so much time crunch and with so many patients. They ran all the tests, blood work, scans, took all of my symptoms seriously and treated me urgently. I am home and feeling so much better already. Oh, and they sent me home with all the supplies needed to take care of the incision site in the coming days. Nothing but gratitude to the nurse and Dr who helped me. Literal angels. I’m super shocked honestly at the low rating reviews from folks)

Broken shoulder. ER was fast, for an ER. Both the Nurses & Doctor were definitely on point. Was sent home , SOP, went to see Dr. Snow, a spiral fracture 🙁 , two days later admitted Cedars MDR. Everyone!!! was great, what can I do for you or get you, polite, fast to respond and on simple requests. Even went to McD’s to get me a burger & fries. Pre & Post Op they kept on top of PAIN with great meds. New hospital should be so good for our area. I will change to all Cedars Doctors then. 🙂

What I experienced at this medical facility should be criminal. In fact I'm sure it is criminal. I was withheld medication by my male Asian charge nurse ( by his own admission) because I admitted to being very intoxicated and possibly drugged on ketamine. After me mocked me I asked he not be the one to give me the injection. He said ( and I'm paraphrasing but almost quoting ) " ohhhh you don't want to deal with me ? Well I'm your charge nurse. So if you don't want to deal with me I'm just going to leave your medication right over here" ... as he put the injections down on a counter and turned around and walked away leaving my injections on the counter as I lay in the hospital bed hallway .... all this as four other employees ( even some through masks) just looked completely mortified. I could see it in their eyes. The least that should happen to that "charge nurse" is that he should be suspended and drug tested. I would have been have to operate more efficiently and I was drunk, drug and have no formal medical training.

Even if I was crazy , drunk, hallucinating from being drugged as you can't test for ketamine , or having a massive panic attack ( or worse going through some type of withdrawals as I told them I'm an alcoholic) --no IV or water or urin output got 8 hours --. Finally I was just sedated for being annoying and thrashing around and then discharged with no shoes.

so, if you aren't completely unconscious and have enough time to make it to UCLA in Santa Monica go there.

( two stars are for the three kind nurses that showed me kindness , the one young male nurse with facial hair who picked up the meds the rouge male asian charge nurse left on the counter and administering them to me, the kind African american nurse who helped me drink some red gatorade, and the white nurse with a short brown hair style for noticing hoe bad i was shaking from withdrawal and getting me some type of anticonvulsant right before i was discharged with no paperwork.

Got there after a car accident and from the first nurse to the last I had a great team taking care of me. They calmed me down, were very fast and clear on everything. Nurse Hershey was an angel. Jake and Luis too. I recommend 1000%.
