We had our first ER visit with our son, and I was very pleasantly surprised! Dr. Ryanne Walther was absolutely incredible. She was waiting at the door to our room to check our little guys lip, immediately started him with a numbing gel, and was back in 30 minutes later to get him stitched up. (Didn’t even need injected numbing medication!) The sutures were done wonderfully and while he is still healing, it seems as though it will heal beautifully with very little scar. Nurse Sarah Mann was absolutely top notch. I could hear her interaction with other patients and she is the kind of light hearted, funny, and loving nurse every ER should have. She was hilarious with our 9 year old and it made him even more chill and relaxed about the whole situation. From check in, to triage, to the stitches and everything, we were out in 2 hours and had a wonderful experience with each person. We didn’t feel rushed at all, just like our little dudes injury mattered, and that they wanted to help us get out of there in a timely manner since it was so late. So thankful for the kindness and the efficiency of the whole staff there. I have had both my babies at Carson Tahoe too and have never had a poor experience.

Went in because of a fever that wouldn’t go away. Got signed in at the ER and only waited maybe 20 minutes before getting seen, I had a bad case of kidney disease and sepsis and everyone at Carson Tahoe were very helpful and did their best trying to make me feel better. Stayed in the hospital for 3 days while they closely monitored me. But everyone from the kitchen staff and nurses were all professional and kind. It took them a while to figure out where the infection was but I got a CT and lots of blood work. I’m so grateful for everyone who took care of me, I’m not sure why so many bad reviews because I got the best care! Thank you again CTH! I owe it to you!

I appreciate health care workers more than I can express <3 I can't imagine how challenging the job is! I'm kind, patient, and respectful to everyone, as that's how I would like to be treated, but I have had some really bad luck at this hospital. I have been treated SO poorly with insurance verification, pulmonary testing, and the womens breast center. The women at Station 3 were SO SWEET and the hospital is BEAUTIFUL but I won't be going back.

Lived here all my life, ER, hospital, Ancillary service have been just OK. Back office staff needs serious training. Routinely get called, literally within the hour of having to leave for MRI, CT something, to tell me what can't have the imaging or procedure done because the doctor sent the wrong code. WTH....the order surs there two months and scheduled for a well over a month and NOW it an emergency on my part. I can't count how many times CTH has delayed my care and caused me unwarranted stress, anxiety and pain because of this. It's always, we have been trying g to get a hold of your doctor. Well, apparently not, because every time I call, I get a call back, usually within an hour, always be the end of day if call in the morning.
Seriously, office staff is not capable of doing their job. If this was a one off thing, I wouldnt be so bothered, but it has happened twice in 2023 and a good 5-6 times in the previous 5-6 years. So, if you look at it as needing scheduled imaging or a procedure once a year for slowly processing problems, then that averages the almost every time. And it's not just one doctor they say they repeatedly try to contact. This last problem, I was in the doctor office to personally ensure that the correct info got to the hospital, then follow up the next day to ensure the email or fax was received and then scheduled appt. So, their staff is great a getting info, confirming info, but not hitting the SAVE button or importing the info toy file.

ER care has been consistently above average the past 10 years. Hospital stays, average to slightly below average. Always take an advocate that knows something about medicine...like an EMT friend...or you will get talked at not talked to and you have someone to actually get you help when you need it after sitting in a bed hitting your button for 30 minutes.

Last night, my mom was brought to the emergency department by East Fork Fire Department due to chest pain. While in the ER, she couldn’t stop praising the staff and physicians for their kindness and genuine care. They truly took the time to get to know her as a person, not just a number. I want to extend a special thank you to Dr. Gonda, Nurse Rachael, and Nurse Margaret for the exceptional care they provided. Your compassion made a world of difference!

I have actually had several experiences here in the past month. I would say that most problems seem to have been in poor communication from one department to the other.
First, I had a problem with my ankle. The emergency room handled things perfectly. Then my son and daughter-in-law had their first baby. Everything went very smoothly.
Then, a week after that, my husband had a heart attack. The care he has received has been top tier. The only hiccups were when we first came in. The receptionist had a hard time getting the staff to respond. When they did, they were more concerned with getting the ID bracelet than getting him the immediate help he needed. Once that was done, which felt forever under the circumstances, they had 7 people on him, and they were not messing around at that point.
I was told to go to a specific area and the doctor would come see me and let me know how things went. That never happened. I finally reached out after 3 hours and my husband had already been in his room for an hour. I was told it would be at least an hour and a half and if there were complications, it could be longer, so I had no idea that they were done already. My husband sent nurses to look for me, but they were looking in the ICU waiting room and I was downstairs, where 2 different people told me to be. They were very specific about that. First of all, I know all this happened during a shift change, and the information may have been lost between that and the different departments.
It was an emergency. Things happen. I get that. But, I do feel there could be better communicating between departments and shift changes. That's the only reason I'm only giving 4 stars.
Once my husband was in ICU...I can't give enough praise to the ICU nurses. They have all been above and beyond and absolutely incredible. And once he was actually in the ER, the staff was also incredible. The ER and Cath department saved his life. The hospital is not only beautiful, but extremely well maintained, and incredibly clean. It's the cleanest hospital I've ever seen. I just feel they should have taken him back immediately since he was having a heart attack, and that the doctor should have come to the place I was told to stay and that he would come talk to me.
Otherwise, I would say it was a five star rating. I'm grateful they brought my first grandbaby into the world and saved my husband and took great care of him.
