it's amazing how a health care provider can keep operating in the manner cal optima does, you want to talk about the run around for 2 hours and still NOTHING accomplished. i'm sorry the woman says - you guys are sorry all right! the woman at cal optima actually gave me the number to Kaiser(there competitor)so i could switch over. i DO NOT recommend cal optima -stay away from them, they obviously are not looking for the best interests of there patients. the way they talk to there customers is not professional they could care less! what a mickey mouse operation.

This is a warning to anyone who might be considering switching to one care as a insurance plan. I thought because they had experience with persons who had Medicare and Medi-Cal they would be a good choice for me since My Humana co-pay had been rising every year. It's been 3 months and the only service I received has been one visit to my brand new primary care physician. 1 Carroll drag their feet on everything and if you're ill like I am it is extremely frustrating to find out you cannot receive basic care from anyone until they authorize it and it could take quite a long time. I am now sick again after having been on a biologic for the past couple of years and did a very good job I cannot even get that authorized without jumping through 6 months worth of hoops. Please do your research and look at the reviews. They get horrible scores for a reason. This company does not care if you live or die. Delay, delay delay and quite possibly you will pass away before they have to pay for the service. This seems to be their modus operandi

i had a good experience with someone on the phone named Robert. shout out to him! he was so helpful and sweet in assisting me with my situation. i would give more stars but i do not trust this place entirely. i only want to give five stars to Robert. thank you Robert for helping me out

A joke. No new member orientations due to COVID-19 (it's July 2023), but their welcome packets still include RSVP information to orientations. They cancel the orientations the day before with no ETA on when the next available one is. Just another bureaucracy pushing paper and paying reps to do who knows what. A disregard for good processes so that people can plan their lives without anchoring on make-believe dates.

Shout out to Louis. Every time I call Cal Optima, they always answer quickly. They helped me get my referrals approved faster than waiting the 2 week period. AND they even called the doctor while I was on hold to get everything handled. Thank you.

If it is possible DO NOT PICK this health agency extremely unprofessional they don’t call you back if you have an issue. I’ve had an issue with a doctor in early July about an incorrect diagnoses that had me taking unnecessary pills. Never got a call back. I filed a complaint the person handling my case NEVER called me, in the resolution letter they send out it says call if you have any questions. Still to this day haven’t heard from this person I left 2 voicemails in early July. Finally got a call from another resolution specialist that was working on my case. She was extremely rude and actually hung up in my face and cut me off from speaking multiple times.. Did not allow me speak about my issue. Refused to help me understand why it has taken so long for a call back. I filed this complaint august 4th and requested a callback the call back is supposed to be within 24 hours or 5 to 10 business days. It took them 3 weeks and only because I called to ask, she actually called me in the MIDDLE of me calling customer service about it because the customer service person sent a notification to her so she might have saw it and immediately called. Without a doubt she would have NEVER called me if I didn’t call customer service. Absolute horrible agency. Please save yourself the time and stress dealing with them.

Went to get the vaccine today. Line was not too long, registration was easy. Unfortunately I registered online but they couldn't find it. But I was happy that the line was moving smoothly and the wait was really not that long. All the employees were very friendly and helpful and made sure everyone was comfortable. So far so good, let's see what happens after the second shot.
