I came to California Detox all the way from Massachusetts, desperate to get clean from heroin and alcohol after years of struggling. From the moment I arrived in Laguna, I felt a shift — not just in my environment, but in my mindset. The staff at California Detox were the first people in a long time who treated me with dignity, compassion, and real understanding of what I was going through.

The medical team made detox as comfortable and safe as possible. I had around-the-clock care, and they adjusted my protocol as needed so I never felt like just another number. The counselors helped me unpack layers of pain and addiction I’d buried for years. They didn’t push cliches or cookie-cutter advice — they listened, and they challenged me when I needed it.

The setting itself played a huge part in my healing. There’s something powerful about recovering near the ocean, where every morning feels like a second chance. I found peace in moments I never thought I'd feel again — walking outside, journaling, even laughing with people who truly got it.

No program is perfect, and recovery is never easy, but California Detox gave me the foundation I needed to start over. They helped me detox not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually. If you're out there thinking there’s no way out — I promise you, this place can be the beginning.

I attended California Detox to do a panel and it was such a good experience. The facility was super clean and welcoming! The staff had the clients there on time to begin the panel which showed me they are really good at sticking to schedule. The staff is also super kind and asked if I needed anything to drink when I first walked in which doesn't normally happen. I am definitely going back again to attend another panel when asked.

I came to California detox last march. I needed to make a change in my life for my well being. the facilitators, fellow clients, and staff were a huge part of my experience and they made it very pleasant. I learned life skills and developed tools that I wouldn't have learned anywhere else.

The view from the house is truly breathtaking. the living room captures perfect sunsets over the water and brings a very comforting atmosphere into the house

Having a nurse on call 24/7 was a huge help during my first week due to the condition I was in, they made sure I had all the medical assistance I needed to get through my detox.

During my stay I had several appointments I needed to make, the case manager was very on top of their work and had scheduled them perfectly and I made it to every single one of my appointments.

Staff took us to meetings/outings every week , we had a perfect balance of working on ourselves at the facility and still being able to go outside into the world

Upon discharge I felt brand new, and was confident in my ability to maintain a stable life

I would refer friends and loved ones to this facility if ever needed. It was one of the best decisions I’ve made.

Absolutely love the staff and couldn’t asked for a more beautiful place to stay. Not my first time in treatment but it was my last. Beautiful water view and beautiful people. Great facilitators for groups

I’ve been to a plethora of treatment facilities and this one takes the cake! If you’re struggling and looking for refuge, California Detox is the place to be. I have nothing but good things to say about my experience here. There is good and bad in every treatment center, but finding the bad in this example honestly is difficult. The staff actually cares and it feels like it’s more than just a paycheck. The care team is amazing and they always keep the food stocked, and I like to eat. 😂
I have a vast history of relapse, and have been in multiple institutions for treatment. Hands down the most comfortable. If a hopeless junkie like me can get sober, you can too, and if you get to chose I would come here!

* I can’t say enough great things about California Detox!
* I was completely broken with no sense of direction.
* I left with hope, strength, self discipline, a daily adulting routine and an amazing experience.

* Immediately when I literally stumbled in the door I was welcomed by Jared and Gabriel! They make you feel comfortable and safe!
* Rachel the Case Manager is more like a house mom. She’s super grounded, down to earth and makes you feel comfortable. She goes above and beyond by accommodating your dietary needs!
* Raely the onsite therapist is so easy to connect with! I literally felt like I had known her for years. She gives you great Insight, great advice and has a common sense approach to therapy!
* I would definitely recommend attending the daily sessions during detox! It makes it fly by!
* All of the facilitators have a unique creative often spiritual approach and are completely engaging as opposed to being bored by lecturing.
* It’s awesome from the morning AA zoom meetings to yoga to painting art on canvas to playing recovery Pictionary and to even getting cleansed with a sage stick!
* You will love it that they see exercise as an important component in recovery.
* Nicole would take us on daily walks and
Eric the exercise facilitator brings his bluetooth speaker and workout bands!
* Weekly outings included in person doc meetings, bowling, mini golf/go cart racing and an awesome boat ride in Newport Beach harbor!
* I could go on but my best suggestion is to experience it for yourself and all it has to offer! I guarantee you’ll never regret it!
