I first want to thank Garrett for taking the time to offer adult autism evaluations at an accessible rate and time. I'm very appreciative that this is obtainable for those looking for an evaluation.

The process is simple. You fill out an intake form and book and pay for an appointment for the evaluation. Immediately upon booking, you're sent several assessments to take at your leisure. Closer to your evaluation date, you'll receive a final assessment. Then you join a video call the day of on Zoom. Garrett will go over his impressions, tell you how you scored, and give you time to ask questions or explain things more in depth. In theory it's a quick, straightforward and painless process.

However, I encountered a few hiccups along the way. I found out through talking to others, that most received the final assessment about two days before their appointment. I did not. I emailed three times and texted once. I received mine only twenty-one hours before my appointment. It was a Sunday night before a holiday. It left me panicked. Nobody I talked to had this experience so it made me feel even worse. To add to the anxiety, Garrett was six minutes late to the appointment meeting.

The other thing to note is that Blue Tide seems to be swamped. Generally, unless you're asking for further accommodations, you won't receive an email back (and no one I ever talked to had). You're supposed to expect your diagnostic paperwork two weeks after your appointment, but I received mine four days after that mark. I talked to another person who received it six days late.

Overall, I would recommend Blue Tide Therapy, but I feel like it's important to take the lateness into account. Especially since people on the spectrum tend to be more anxious. I have read that Garrett is making an attempt to hire on more help for communication, and I hope that happens as it seems that Blue Tide is getting a bit of traction.

Again, I'm extremely thankful for the time and effort it took on Garrett's behalf to put together an impression and diagnostic paperwork. Especially at an accessible price range. I wish nothing but the best for this budding practice!

Edit/update: I wanted to add that the price has increased, and that others seem to not be receiving their paperwork, or even tests in time for the appointments. It's disappointing to hear.

For those of you saying a speech therapist pathologist cannot diagnose autism, that is not true, as long as you're in a state he is licensed in. The website states that each college/work place/etc may have it's own it's requirements of a diagnosis (has to come from a psychiatrist, etc), but Garrett can work with you to get the paperwork you need.

Garrett was very kind and knowledgeable and made me feel very validated. It's very difficult to find anyone who diagnoses adults with autism that doesnt cost thousands of dollars, even with insurance, so I'm very thankful to have found Blue Tide Therapy. It did take a while to get in contact with the office for ADA paperwork for my school, but he did say he was trying to bring in more help to make communications more accessible.

Garrett was very thorough and understanding. He took the time to listen and really piece together everything I told him during the evaluation.

I was very nervous to start the appt but his calm demeanor helped me to open up. I would highly suggest and have been suggesting Garrett to people looking for an autism evaluation.

Edit: We ended up also taking my son to Garrett. Garrett was efficient and provided resources and ideas for helping my son. He knows what he is doing for sure. I highly recommend Garrett.

I had my eval on Oct 7, 2024. It is now Nov 15th and I have yet to receive my written report. I have left two voicemails, two emails, and one text. No reply. No written eval almost one month late. Pretty bummed, seems like a scam.

Making an appointment was quick and easy. I was able to take all the assessments on my own time rather than doing them as part of an in person appointment that would have required a whole day off work. Garrett was very easy to talk to and my interaction with him was very affirming and informative.
