If I could give 0 stars I would. My father is very ill after leaving this facility after only 11 days and was admitted to the hospital. Pneumonia is still present in the lungs. Both big toes are infected. The toes And his skin is being addressed by wound management.

And as far as the xanax goes, if your staff had just addressed his dementia issues per his last hospital visit - moderate to severe- they would have consulted a psych to deal with the falling, bruising and agitation. Placing him on meds to subdue him to the point of falling is Blue Lakes fault which ultimately the falling, bruising and wound management is Blue Lakes fault. I hope none of your family ever has to be admitted there.

It's barely acceptable. If you or your loved one have great insurance or money, do yourself a BIG favor and find another place. If you're poor and are in desperate need of something-ANYTHING- this will do.

Great service and a beautiful facility. The staff is so kind and the residents seem really happy. I tried some of their food and couldn't believe it was nursing home food. It tasted like an expensive restaurant. I am very impressed by this place!

My grandmother recently stayed at Blue Lake for rehab after a fall at home. The rehab team was amazing, food was excellent, and staff was kind. I would definitely recommend this facility for a rehab stay.

If you love your parents please do not send them here! My father was there over a year and a half and did not get the proper care he deserved my father deteriorated exponentially while there, mentally, physically and emotionally. I transferred my father to Parkside Rehab (which took forever due to the staff at University Center East and west dragging their feet) for long term care and already received multiple phone calls on how to best care for my father including, physical therapy, tv time, games and other activities. They even made it a goal to keep me up to date on his health. In the year and a half my father was at university they had never done that or even inform me that my father had gotten sick a few times. The facility is dirty, most of my fathers items are missing and un accounted for and really, I could go on and on about how terrible this place is. I almost never leave reviews but this is one of those times that I must or the sake of others. RUN AWAY FROM UNIVERSITY CENTER EAST AND WEST FOR THAT MATTER!

These people are RUDE!!! A family member called up there to see if they had any beds available. The woman who answered said NO, WE DON’T HAVE ANY BEDS AND WE WON’T GOR A LONG TIME SO DO NOT CALL AGAIN!
Learn how to speak to people, lady! Especially to people concerned of a family member and trying to find them a place to stay. Obviously these people have no compassion at all, so I wouldn’t consider that place even if they did have a bed open, even if it was the last place on Earth. If you are so miserable there, find a new job!!!
