AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE

This place has HORRIBLE billing practices and are IMPOSSIBLE to contact. Ridhima was my therapist for quite a few years (she is absolutely incredible) and the amount of issues I’ve had with them is insane. I have been double charged for a year of appointments and charged for appointments I never even scheduled.

When I tell you that it is IMPOSSIBLE to get in contact with these people it’s ridiculous. No matter the amount of times I called or emailed them I could only get an answer after my therapist contacted her manager for me.

It’s genuinely not worth going to this place. I stopped going about 5 months ago and they are still charging me. I currently have still not been able to get in contact with them.

Do not recommend. I was looking for a new primary care doctor and at first was happy with Dr. Shirin Peters but after the first visit I was only seen by the PA despite my appointments being made with the doctor. Their front desk/billing/communication is a mess. They enrolled me in an autopay program where I got billed $20 monthly when I hadn't had an appointment in months. Worst of all, the two referrals I asked for were so incompetent it was insulting. The psychiatrist referral they gave me had so many horrifying and abusive reviews I sent back screenshots to them and asked how they could in good faith recommend this man. To this they replied I was welcome to search for a psychiatrist via my insurance. Very helpful. In addition, the orthopedist they referred me to for a leg problem misdiagnosed me and added months of pain to my recovery. Don't recommend this practice.

Dr. Shirin Peters is a wonderful doctor. She takes her time with each patient, is an attentive listener, and works with patients as a partner to manage the patient's health needs. Today I had a virtual appointment with a Physician's Assistant, Christine Fang, in the same practice, and she was also wonderful. It is generally easy to get appointments with the Bethany practitioners. Sounds dreamy, doesn't it?

However, I'm looking for a new doctor. The reason is that they have been unable to hire and/or retain front office staff who are even remotely competent. The practice encourages patients to text when they have a question or need something. Receipt of this text generates an auto-response that assures the recipient that the office will get back to them within 24 hours, exclusive of weekends and holidays. I needed a prescription refill and was told I'd need a follow-up appointment before the Rx would be refilled. I asked that they refill one month (maintenance medication I've been taking for years) so that I could continue taking the medication without interruption and was told that wasn't possible. I was told to respond with my availability and someone would help schedule me. When I did that, I was sent a link at which I could schedule directly. The problem was that through all of this back and forth it took as long as *60* hours to get a reply, and only once was the response under 24 hours. In the meantime, I don't have my medication and will have been off it for about 10 days before I can restart it.

I had this problem once before, and ended up going to an urgent care clinic for a refill that time. I also explained to my doctor that if this happened again I would look for another doctor. And here I am.

The PA I saw today told me that this has been a problem since "Clara" left. If that is true, Clara has been gone for a very long time, because it has been around a year since the last time this happened. After the previous issue there was a lot of noise on the Clinic's behalf about how they had just revamped all of their systems so communication would be prompt, efficient and responsive going forward. Too bad it isn't so. I will miss Dr. Peters, but as an older adult with chronic illnesses, I'm not willing to risk my health waiting for the practice to hire competent front office staff.

I went in a little nervous having read the negative reviews but everything was very professional. From scheduling (and rescheduling) to check-in to meeting with the doctor and nurse it all went smoothly. Dr. Berbano and nurse Sonia were very kind and informative. I plan to continue seeing them in the future for Endocrinology.

Consistently have told me I would be charged $50 for ex refill but then send me a bill for $200+ for services I did not receive or ask for.
This has happened not just once, but at least 4-5 times. Their billing department is deceptively hard to get any answers out of, and there seems to be no line of communication between the doctors and offices and the billing department.

They refuse to address this. At this point I must assume it’s a scam. I have in writing that I will only be charged $50 from both front desk and the doctors. I am sick of being lied to and their negligence. Please save yourself the trouble and avoid them at all costs. You’ll regret the bill later.

The ladies in Murray Hill were amazing today and always. The office is beautiful, clean and cozy. The staff are awesome, professional and pleasant. Definitely happy to be rocking with the best! Thank you ladies for another smooth experience!

Love working with Dr. Shirin Peters and her team. Extremely thorough. Identified a few issues that my previous doctors were not able to find. Love that they can provide a large suite of high quakity services while still giving that small old school doctor feel. Highly recommended.
