My Second appointment I drove from Jacksonville to Behavioral Health in Little Rock, low on money and gas. Went to the Receptionist to check in, she said "your appt was at 9 NOT 10!" I pulled out my appt card and showed it to her, it clearly stated 10. I was visibly upset at wasting my time and limited gas, only to be BLOWN OFF! The Receptionist was clearly annoyed and did NOT CARE at all that Behavioral Health screwed up my appt. I said I would not be back, and she said "okay, that's fine!" Someone should tell this girl that patients PAY HER SALARY!

It took me 3 weeks to get an appointment here and before getting that appointment I had to fill out a new patient form online. In the packet, they asked why I’m seeking therapy and I explained thoroughly and then they called me back with the day and time to be there and told me Rene Simpson also known as Carlotta Simpson would be my therapist.
When I arrived and started speaking with Rene, she did an assessment and only asked me yes or no questions from a sheet of paper. She didn’t ask me questions to go further in depth with that I was dealing with. She didn’t take the time to truly understand me as my therapist. She seemed one sided and not willing to be open minded during our first session. She was rude, continued to speak over me and stayed on her phone and computer the entire time I was with her.
My session was supposed to last 2 hours and we didn’t even finish an hour before she told me she couldn’t help me. At this point I was frustrated and just wanted to speak with someone else or leave.
Before leaving, I spoke with her supervisor and was able to provide the issue I was having with Rene, also my reasoning for coming to therapy in the first place. She was a lot more understanding and provided me with another appointment the same day with someone else.
In my opinion, I didn’t have a great experience here. I didn’t get along well with Rene and feel as though she could’ve performed better and done her job.
But I’m thankful to have another appointment the same day with someone else. Which is why I’ve given 2 stars.
If you’re thinking of choosing this place, I personally believe there’s better choices.

The worse place to get mental health services they focus on their insurance money before their patients the worse thing is wasting my money for counseling and a PRN because they never have real psychiatrist up here so I’m very disappointed of this business I’m ready to move forward to a different doctor who listen to my issues and work with me. I feel sorry for people who’ have deal with this issues in the top of our own problems.

I absolutely adore my therapist! Ms. Simpson has worked with me for almost two years. We were first linked during the pandemic, so all of my sessions were via Telehealth. The first appointment was my intake appointment; it was not a therapy session. This is standard procedure and was used to provide me with her diagnosis. From there, we have worked on my needs and she has been amazing. I am a completely different person from who I was when I started working with Ms. Simpson. For the first time today, were were able to meet face-to-face and she is just as wonderful! I really do recommend Behavioral Health Services and I definitely recommend Ms. Simpson. šŸ™‚

It's a pain to try to get an appointment, you have to listen to an entire recorded message with no options for an appointment then wait on hold just to say you'd like an appointment. If you speak with the doctor over tele-health, you will hang up with him and then have to call back up there for a follow-up appointment. It's been months since my daughter has talked to her therapist because the appointment is either canceled or no one takes the time to notify me that is has been changed from tele-health to in-person without asking me or her first. We've been using them for over a year and it has been less than ideal since we first started trying to see an actual doctor. The intake guy was great, the therapist is usually great, the doctor...I honestly can't say much about him since I've seen him over video about 3 times. I will say that the doctor and therapist do not seem to communicate with each other about the patient they're treating which is disappointing. The office staff in the location of doctor, the one time I had to deal with them in person were not friendly. They treated us both as a complete inconvenience, so much so that we ended up leaving the office and talking with the doctor via tele-health. One of the women even came out into the waiting room that we were sitting in to tell us that we were there too early. Then the doctor acted like I was in a hurry and needed the appointment to end soon, so he only spent 20 minutes of our scheduled 1 hour. I hate that a mental health facility can treat a patient poorly, but these people have. So much needs to be improved on, and most of it lies with the office staff. The 3 stars are solely based on the care received when NOT dealing with the office. The office itself doesn't meet the expectations of a 1-star review.

Update (scroll down for original review): after taking a break from mental health services, I resumed care with a different therapist at this clinic and the difference between her and my original therapist is like night and day. She is simply wonderful and is probably the first therapist I have clicked with in a long time. I look forward to speaking with her because I feel like she actually gets me and is interested in helping me unravel the reasons I react to my world in the way that I do. I only gave 3 stars because there are still so many issues with scheduling, particularly with the med doctor and with getting a nurse to call back in a timely fashion, which is less than desirable when you're struggling with a medication change or when life just takes a nosedive and you really need help.

Original: Extremely disappointed with the services I received at Behavioral Health Services. The issues started when I first sent the request for services. I asked about a specific type of therapy but they assigned me to a therapist that didn't even offer that service. The therapist was very aloof, not remotely warm, and didn't seem interested in listening to me or helping me with any of my issues. She was noticeably watching the clock during my last visit with her and had the nerve to ask me when I wanted to come back as if I actually wanted to speak with her again. Their medical doctor was friendly and actually helpful but it was incredibly difficult to get an appt with him. I had to set an appt 30 days out after a medication change. The day of my appt, I got a call that the doctor was sick and would not be seeing me today. When they tried to reschedule, it was going to be another month before he had openings. Forget that, I will just go to my primary care physician.

I need help with a family member who needs Mental Health Services.
His medical records from an out of state hospital discharge, recommended he continue mental health treatment and adhere to his medications, which he’s refused to take.

This facility had no options, other than seek guardianship. I said, this process could take time and given our loved one mental illness he needs help.

I said, I don’t want to call 911 , if his condition progresses. I rather be proactive and not reactive!
Plus, calling the police ,if needed, may cause my loved one to run from the police like he did in the past!

I called because of their reviews.

I will seek support elsewhere.

It's been a full week since I left a message for the only person they have that can set up a new patient. Wednesday at 3pm I was told she had left for the day. Thursday at 2pm I was told she had left for the WEEKEND but that I could expect my message from Wednesday to be returned next Monday or Tuesday. It's Wednesday again and I haven't heard from them at all. I'm glad I found Chenal Family Therapy instead. Chenal emailed me back the same day I inquired, and I've had multiple calls AND emails from their new patient team making sure I've been helped. Perhaps there are extenuating circumstances that have prevented BHS from providing any sort of service, and I hope that's true. For me, it was extremely disappointing to be completely ignored when seeking help.
