Wow you guys really went and removed the review I posted years ago. You can rebrand and change your name all you want, you guys do not help people. You do not want to help people. Thunder road has caused irreparable damage to so many lives that's it's completely unethical you still even operate. But Oakland is corrupt as ever so it comes as a surprise to no one. Keep collecting your government funding while doing the bare minimum for the people you say you want to help. You guys bring up God in almost every interaction which is wild for a "non profit" aka definitely profiting business that has no integrity.

Well last year after 5month of help they my counselor just abandoned me with out any notice after she said they will help me for a 1 year. So I’m homeless again let see if this time they can really help me .

Can't believe this place still exists! Was sent here as a juvenile in 2013! The best choice I ever made was running far away from this place! It is as stated in a previous "review" a brainwashing facility, solely for profit! There is no going home, they do not rehabilitate any child, this is quite literally torture! I'm now 28 and have stayed out of the adult system! I did a 6 month long program in juvenile hall over returning to this place! I can't begin to tell you the horrors associated with this place! Please don't send any child here unless you want them to be destined for failure and a lifetime of mental health issues such as p.t.s.d and depression.

This is a review of Amber House first of I'm a client of bacs as of current I am at the Amber House two week program and to be honest I can't stand this place the staff here tell us how to talk and they belittle people when they think others are not listening. Also I've had problems here as far as with a package that just had shirts in it. I would not recommend Amber House or would I suggest you be a client with any other part of BACS I've been with them for about three years and they do not treat people right at all and this is a fact.

Professionally skilled councilors provide support for a trip to sobriety for teens here. Their programs teach behavioral options for clients and their families to use. The glaring deficiency is simply of manpower. How long these professionals can continue to provide their much needed therapy under these conditions is not known. They work on the front lines of our societal struggle with drugs, broken family relations and poor education. The clients know this. The clients here are learning to making choices and receive consequences for their choices that will give them a chance to always see options for behavior and support increasing social skills. I wish they had pets at this facility and a choral group.

Just want you to know that the juvenile justice/juvenile probation department in my county does not recommend Thunder Road and refers no juveniles there. As an example of why they don't, the director of juvenile probation told me that the administration of Thunder Road removed a young man from their facility, transported him to our county, then dumped him in the director's office, saying "He's your problem now." The director had no idea this kid was coming to him. My experience with this place was similarly negative. I hope this place has gotten better over the years.

Well I was told that an apartment was found for me and I will be covered for seven months by bacs but I would have to come up with $250.00 so they can hold the room in the apartments next to hilltop mall in Richmond I went ahead and gave these folks my 250.00 I was denied and no money returned di.not retuincome was not able to cover ok since there
