Highly recommended. If I could give 10 stars, I would. Barn Life is absolutely amazing. The impressive balance of eastern and western modalities of healing makes Barn Life so unique. My therapist is extraordinary and is undoubtedly the best with whom I've ever worked. She has made such a tremendous difference in my life and my self-esteem and self-love. The occupational therapist is excellent. The groups are powerful, with top-notch facilitators. The owners, Matt and Alyssa, have an incredible level of compassion and empathy, and they are both so knowledgeable and down to earth. Barn Life combines professionalism with loving kindness to all who arrive here. I have been challenged with clinical depression and a severe anxiety disorder since I was a small child. Being a client here has been thoroughly life-changing for me, as I am witnessing my own steady and constant growth/progress and healing day after day. I am beyond grateful to be here and shall continue to recommend Barn Life to anyone struggling with mental health issues. Thank you, Barn Life, for being extremely instrumental in teaching me not just how to survive but also to thrive and feel joy for basically the first time in my life.

When I was first referred to Barn Life from the residential treatment I was in, I had no idea what to expect. I've cycled between various therapists throughout my life and although I'd made some great strides, I still felt like I had reached the end of the road, and Barn Life aka "The Barn" couldn't have been further from the kinds of therapy I'd grown accustomed to. I'm a city kid through and through, so already I was thrown by the thought of being in a Barn or anything involving a Barn, but thankfully no farm work was involved 😆
And while I bring that up somewhat in jest, I also want to give my candid perspective because I did walk in with a lot of apprehension and nervousness. I also feel it's worth mentioning that I had my own ups and downs, but that was to be expected even if at the time those lows were intensified by the weight of being in treatment.
What stuck with me the most from my time at the Barn was how I was held accountable for staying on course, while still being met with empathy and compassion. By the time I left, I was not only far more attuned with my emotions, but I also had tangible coping mechanisms that I continue to use and ultimately helped me to avoid my slips becoming falls.
The only "caveat" or detail I feel was challenging at times was the adjustment to being in a community-based environment. I say caveat in quotes because as an extrovert I didn't typically struggle to speak in groups, but as a new client I could see it being jarring, especially for anybody with social anxiety. When I got there, I went from being in a small intimate setting of 4-5 other clients max to there being ~15-20 other people on average at the Barn and I noticed sometimes people felt drowned out easily in the crowd.
My advice to anybody starting at the Barn would be to always seize the opportunity to share in groups, even if it is to voice constructive feedback. The faculty is always open to suggestions and is committed to making the Barn a safe space to process emotions. Ergo, community is essential to the structure of the program.
Push yourself! Take inventory of what's being said in group if you don't get the chance to share! Reach out to other people if what they said resonated with you! Go to the groups you think will be uncomfortable! Be vulnerable! Try new things! And advocate for yourself if you feel you need a change--it's YOUR treatment, make the most out of it!
Bottom line is I would absolutely recommend Barn Life to anybody ready to commit to treatment and anybody feeling uninspired by traditional therapy. If nothing else, the Barn is a one of a kind facility where therapy doesn't feel dry or institutional.

Might have been great. But they falsely claim to accept Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield PPOs. They are out of network. When you speak to Andrew, he will tell you they do accept it but they charge it out of network, which is not what accepting my insurance means. They should say that “we work with that insurance” maybe, but no, you will have to pay a deductible if you have an anthem Blue Cross PPO, as they ARE NOT in network.

Barn life is a unique place. In my time, I feel like I came out with more tools and a happier outlook than I could have anticipated. Groups were incredibly interesting, and involved areas and perspectives on wellness and mental health that I haven’t encountered elsewhere, but have been crucial for me. The balance of eastern and western modalities felt like it gave me a lot of space and tools for introspection and growing to understand and like myself better. I feel as though I developed friendships and a support system that I’m incredibly thankful for. I’m grateful for everyone I attended barn with and everyone who led groups or worked there. It really is a special space!

It’s been about two months since my time at Barn and after having some time to apply what I learned there, I can state that this program has truly shaped the way I approach life for the better! I’m far from perfect now but because of Barn, I learned to how to accept that, and navigate the world in a way where there’s acceptance and joy. That is something I’m forever grateful for. I would also like give a special thanks to Matt and Kevin. I still playback some of the conversations and lectures that were had because it resonated so much and I see active portrayals of it now in my life so thank you guys! 🙏🏾

I did learn to love yoga but that’s about it. The therapy is F grade. Now I see that they are adding a First Responder/ nurse/ teacher program. No one on staff have any background in these areas. If you are a First Responder, do not go here! It was an harmful environment for me. You will not get better here if you are employees working with the public.

Barn Life is uniquely special. As someone who has had long stretches of sobriety with "traditional" communities and methods, Barn Life stepped in when I started struggling during the pandemic and said "traditional" methods failed to help.

The staff here are exceptional. This is a truly subjective statement, but it is my honest opinion that the people from the owner (Hi Matt!) to EVERYONE else works there because they believe in the work and want to share the tools they found.

Barn Life and their little sibling, Peer Mental Wellness were the launchpad from a shell of an existence to person with self-love/respect, and a life-mission of personal development.
